Beautiful Gorham Silver E.P. Gravy Boat#YC430 Up for auction is a very nice Gorham E.P. Gravyboat. This item has a number on the bottom of YC430. I cleaned it lightly for taking pictures and it shines up beautifully. I did notice a few little spots(needle point size) that did not come off with a light polish. Also on the bottom a couple larger spots that could need a better polishing or could be its worn off. This piece measure 8 1/2" L) x 4 3/4" W) x 4 1/4" T) and it weighs just under 13oz. For your consideration is this beautiful Meriden Silver Plated Compote or Candy Dish. Stamped on the bottom of the stand is Meriden Company. Quadruple Plate U.S.A. 1652. seen in photo# 11. The stand has two winged Cherubs and the initials M.J.J. carved in the base. The base as you can see, needs a good cleaning and there appears to be some silver loss. The bowl is a red satin glass with leafs and flowers that surround the bowl. The bowl is in nice condition with no chips or cracks. The numbers 849/5 are etched on the bottom of the bowl. The coffee pot measures 8 ¾ inches or 22 cm high to the top of the finial. And is 9 inches wide from handle to spout. The set is quite nice it is in the Georgian pattern which features a low foot with bulbous bodies and a ribbed rim on the top. The coffee and tea pots have both insulated handles. All the pieces are marked on the bottom“COMMUNITY GEORGIAN” All the pieces are in very good condition. The coffee pot has some chipping on the edge of the spout. 1892 Signed Poole Lancaster Rose Pattern Silver Kettle Stand Burner Never Used
For repair parts or replacement. From 1892 I have a really nice silver tea kettle pot with stand and burner. The handle is mostly missing but it is still beautiful and usable. It could be repaired, and would be worth 100's more. The tea kettle has a date of 92-2-6 engraved on it which it is very rare that you can find a date on these. The kettle is marked EPNS Lancaster Rose By Poole 400K. The kettle has 4 beautifully decorated feet so that you can set it on the table, and 2 nubs on each side to place it in the stand. The lid and the inside of the pot are in pristine condition like it was never used. Please see the pictures. Here's an old or antique sterling silver creamer from among some estate items we received recently. This one has not been cleaned or polished in a very long time. It is probably from the late 1800's to early 1900's and it has very dark built up tarnish. There is an engraved monogram on this that is so elaborate and with letters intertwined we have no idea what it is. We see no dents or signs of abuse of that type. It stands about 6 inches tall. Has an octagonal shaped footed base that is about 2.75 inches in diameter, so a relatively large creamer. It weighs about 7.2 troy ounces as we show in the pictures for those who are interested in the potential scrap sterling silver value as an investment consideration. That's about it. Pair of Sterling Silver Antique Cauldron Salts. This is a very nice pair of salts of cauldron form on 3 pad feet and with a crenellated edge. They have fitted blue glass liners. Both are in very good condition with no serious dents and only very light scratches commensurate with use as can be seen in the photographs. The hallmarks to the bases are somewhat rubbed with polishing but as best as I can see they seem to be for the London assay office with the date letter for the year 1896 and have the maker's mark TS. Possibly for Thomas Shepherd, an important London maker since the late 18th century They measure 60mm across the bowl. 38mm high.and weigh 42g each without the liners. 1890 CHINESE EXPORT STERLING SILVER TEA SET
Presented is the finest most detailed Chinese Export sterling silver tea sets I have seen in a long while. Each of the three pieces have 8 panels of fine repoussed scenes against a fine matted background. There are very well detailed warriors on horseback and each warrior scene is different. The handles and finials are an unusual branch form and the spout is finished with a dragon's head.The tea set was made c.1890. The beautiful PUMPKIN FORM teapot. As I have mentioned, has 2 panels of different WARRIOR SCENES with good sharp unworn detail(the faces are not worn as is often the case) There are 2 panels of PLUM BLOSSOM and a BIRD under the spout. There are 4 panels of BAMBOO LEAVES. 6 of the panels have a very unusual(for Chinese silver) overlapping tree branches with extra large well detailed leaves. The underside of the teapot has plum ... moreblossom decoration. The handles and finial are of VERY WELL MODELLED BRANCHES. The cover/lid also has unusual raised leaf motifs. The spout is of an upside down DRAGON'S FACE and terminates in engraved floral decoration. There is an engraved GREEK KEY PATTERN going all the way around the top section. The SUGAR BOWL has 8 similar panels with different WARRIOR SCENES and branch form handles as does the CREAMER.The creamer also has BIRDS perched in trees(under the spout) The attention to detail. More unusual motifs and quality of workmanship, make this one of the finest Chinese Export sterling silver tea sets you are likely to come across. The teapot is well signed(unusually) in the cover of the teapot. The silversmith is unknown to me as is the region of China. The teapot stands approx 5.25" 13.5cm) to the top of the finial and just under 9" 22.5cm) handle to spout. Vintage Glass Ash Tray Art Deco Style Silver Metal Cased 4 Tall Cigarette Holders This beautiful ash tray measures 3 and 1/8" by 3 and 1/8" And is a slightly rounded square, and is 1 and 1/2" high and 1 and 3/4" high where each of the cigarette holders are. The cigarette holders sit 1/4 inch above the top of the ash tray. It is in very good vintage condition. I believe it to be either cut or pressed glass having a very pretty diamond shape design on the bottom and the sides appear to be ribbed. The ash tray is heavy thick glass and I believe it has a deco styling. The out side has a silver metal casing with a circle design and is 1 inch wide. Stylish. The foundation of this elaborate institution was laid by the present proprietor in 1858, in a small building on the corner of Market and Commercial streets. The last removal was of the greatest importance, for the building was fitted up specially for a manufactory, and was of proper dimensions to admit of the most extensive manufacturing and retail business.
