This is a delightful Ladies Vesta Case from the early 1920's The Vesta is of Silver Plate decorated in heavy Chasing in the form of a Bouquet of Wild Flowers tied with a Ribbon. The Flowers flow from the Case onto the Lid. The Decorations are the same on both sides. The Vesta is quite large being approx 7.2 cms High by 4.2cms wide and weighs 42.7 grams. The condition is very good for an item over 100 years and presents well with only some surface rubbing/wear. As the base is copper. The finish has an attractive antique patina. The Seams are fine. The Hinge is good with the Lid correctly aligned and opens and shuts with a satisfying'SNAP" Overall this is a very good example of a quality early Silver Plate Vesta Case. Coleman Lantern 7/70 July 1970 228F - UNFUELED, UNFIRED, Parts safe, EXCELLENT
Beautiful shape Coleman 228 F from July 1970. There are no signs of this one ever being fueled or fired. Not a trace of rust or build-up on fuel fill. No fuel odors, no soot. Only blemishes are the bail ding shown with pointing pic, this is on the back side and I've since put a plastic protector on bail, and a small ~ 1/8" chip on vent hole from someone over tightening ball nut. The nut mostly covers this. Paint is great otherwise and decal is perfect. It comes with its original red logo USA glass, not marked as reproduction, and a beautiful shape parts safe. I did buff the parts safe and the aluminum took a shine nicely. Inside safe is a packet of old stock Silk Lite#21-A mantles, a replacement generator in plastic pouch, and a wrench for the frame jam nut. Gasket is intact on safe. Slight surface rust on the latch on safe. This ... moreone is a beauty, would make a great birthday lantern for someone. I've tried to show/describe the only few blemishes I can see on this one, please ask if you'd like to see more of it or with any other questions. Unique Antique Sterling Silver Reptilian Vesta Match Safe

It is monogrammed though appropriately so for a piece of this caliber. It is ceratinly beautifully designed combining aesthetics with functionality at its highest form. I am not certain of the maker or date ogf manufacture as it is only marked sterling and 1000 which I believe may be a part of 925/1000. That said I believe it may date to sometime late 19th century to early 20th century. This is certainly one of the more unique pieces of this type that I have run across. It is magnificently crafted in a stunning heavy relief design depicting what appears to be duo reptiles on the lid along what appears to be a serpent and its tail coming out of the water on the bottoms center. It has wear throughout consistent ... morewith age and use along with some tarnish which we will allow the new owner have their silversmith clean. The lid closes remarkably tight and firm and has no play that I can detect. The lids top edge area has a couple of small dings or dents. And the bases bottom corners and opposite top half edges have small dings or dents one elongated. These detailed descriptions certainly do not detract from the general aesthetics or functionality of the piece and are only mentioned for accuracy. One may say it has weathered the many years extremely well and is in very good condition for its age. This treasure measures approximately 2 5/8 inches longest point top to bottom x 1 3/4 inches widest point across x 11/16 inches thickest points. This is a cool old cast iron/metal combination safe bank. Pictures show front, side, back, bottom, top and inside. It measures 4 3/4" tall, 3 3/4" wide and 3 1/4 deep. It is a combination lock but i don't know the number but once it is locked you can get it opened by just playing with it. There is some surface rust but you should be able to rub it out with some compound and lite steel wool. He said the safe was untouched for some time and he believed it had been from the early to late 60's since anyone had been in it based on the documents he found in there. Apparently his Great Uncle was a collector of coins and a bit reclusive as well. Thus I purchased ALL of the rolls like this one and they will be sold off one roll at a time. Based on the wrapper. This roll looks as though it has been sitting for a long time. I only opened one roll. Because it fell apart durning transport, and the coins were very nice, no junk! This auction is for this ANTIQUE LATE 1890`s to early 1900`s J& E Stevens LOCKING CAST IRON SAFE STILL BANK. THIS BANK IS VERY ORNATE AND IS COVERED BY GEOMETRIC SHAPES AND FLORAL DESIGNS ON FIVE SIDES. I will start this auction at the value of the coin bank and let you. The bidder decide on the value of the unknown buffalo nickels inside of it. The bottom of this bank reads" Key lock safe no. 50, Manufactured by, The J. E. Stevens Co. Cromwell,Conn U.S.A. Pat D. Aug. 24. 1897" The bank measures approximately 4 and 1/8" high by 3 and 1/8" wide by 2 an 5/8" deep. I tried to pick the lock on this one for about 60 minutes and tried numerous keys with no luck on obtaining access to the interior of the safe and examining the coins. I can`t tell the dates on the coins, but it does look like it is completely filled with ... moreold buffalo nickels that are well circulated as i peered through the two holes on the bottom of the bank and the coin slot on the back. The coin slot on the back of the safe has an interior metal blocker that retains the coins inside from falling out and i cannot shake the coins out of the bank because of this same coin guard. I would probrably venture to guess that there are between five to six rolls of buffalo nickels(200 to 240) in this safe according to the weight of it when weighed. I also included a couple of pictures of what this bank weighs and it is a whopping 1966 grams. This antique bank is held together with some kind of pin from bottom to top. The front door is locked and i have no key to open it. It looks like the door needs some kind of skeleton key to open it. The bank is in very good original condition with some light rubbing on the outer edges and some very slight missing finish in some places as well. I found this old coin bank in a wooden box in my attic along with alot of other banks that were filled with very old coins.
