The Stone Mountain half dollar was a by-product of a much larger undertaking—the carving of monumental figures of Robert E. I am offering an antique carved stone.Coral and bronze snuff box in the shape of a cicada Beautifully carved black stone with brown flecks. 3" without stopper. 3.5" with the stopper inserted 1.75" wide Raised veins on the wings. Great attention to detail and craftsmanship, the coral stopper is matte and fits loosely, the coral is set in bronze and the spoon is missing. My father acquired this in the 60's while on R and R in Hawaii. He was a career military officer. I am an artist. It measures 26 1/2" by 26 1/2" The frame is wooden and has speckled golden.Bronze textured in very nice filigree cravings. The matte looks like an older wall paper design and then the enter boarder is a light cream/gray and burgundy. I also took pictures of two different areas on the frame that has indentions but the camera didn't show up very well and this maybe the way the frame was made but I am not sure and wanted to point this out.
