Details: An antique c.1840-1870 handmade solid walnut rope bed. The bed has been converted from being a rope bed. Holes plugged, and fitted with newer solid wood rails to accommodate a full-size mattress set. The headboard and footboard are identical in size and style. Each one is made using two walnut panels, topped by a rolling pin crest, flanked by low, solid posts that feature mushroom-cap finials. The finish is original. Showing age appropriate wear, more so to the footboard where the finish is lighter along the top due to blankets being hung over it for many years. The overall condition is very good, only issues to report are minor scuffs and an old split in one wood panel on the footboard, wood contracting? The split does not affect the stability of the bed at all, and I mention it only for accuracy. Welcome! This listing offers a stunning Navajo pin which has some age going back decades. The turquoise consists of three triangular stones of exceptional quality and beauty framed with expertly detailed silver work on a base of three thick flattened twisted wires. The two side stones are framed in hand made small raindrops and the center stone is partly framed in very fine twisted wire and partly decorated in raindrops of the same small size as those surrounding the other two stones. This is a nice sized pin which will be visible when you wear it. And it weighs a substantial 13.9 grams. The locking pin clasp works fine and the overall condition is excellent vintage. There's a scratched signature of NK on the piece. I din't know who made it, though. It's not marked for silver content which is usual for the older pieces, but it ... moretests as sterling silver. There is a partial hairline in one stone that doesn't go through or endanger the integrity of the piece. These things can occur in old, natural turquoise. The turquoise has lovely quartz matrix in the richly colored high quality stones. This is a great piece for any collection and to be enjoyed. A matching set of vintage gold metallic tassels. French in origin. Bullion fringes at the bottom with tightly woven onion shaped tops. Each tassel hangs from a piece of gold metallic rope cording. Tassels and cording have developed a darker patina which is fairly even throughout. Nice quality. Photos are a good representation of actual color. Measurements Each tassel measures 5 1/2 inches from top to bottom x just over 1 inch across at the widest points. Each piece of cording at the top measures 28 inches in length x just under 1/4 inches wide. Condition Cording and one of the tassels is good condition with some even wear to the strands.
