14K yg Sapphire and Diamond Pendant w/ 14K yg 20" Rope Chain - 6.8 Grams - .35ct
I have for sale a 14k yellow gold diamond and sapphire pendant(1.5g) on a 14k yellow gold 20" rope chain(5.3g; 1.6mm width) 6.8 grams total weight. Both items are stamped"14k" and I guarantee solid unplated gold. This set is previously owned and is in excellent condition with no issues. The chain is free of kinks with clasp that closes securely. The pendant has 3 oval cut sapphires(3.5mm x 2.0mm) which are.102ct each and 3 round cut diamond at.015ct each, giving a total weight of slightly over.35ct. As I am not a gemologist and many gems share colors it is possible they are something else, but sapphire is most likely in my opinion. The other stones test positive for diamond with an electronic diamond tester. This auction is for a beautiful large antique Aneroid Barometer set in a solid oak case shaped like a ship's rope with a brass bezel and white enamel face. This barometer is unmarked and likely dates from the turn of the century. It measures 9 1/4" diameter x 2 3/4" deep. The dial is white enamel with an opening allowing you to see the inner workings and it is set in a brass bezel and it can be hung on the wall by a brass hanger at the top. The enamel dial has a couple of hairline cracks which really do not detract from the overall look of the barometer and there is another hairline crack on the wood at the back which is only visible at the side of the front. The inner workings which can be seen through the opening on the face are incredibly bright and clean. Details: An antique c.1840-1870 handmade solid walnut rope bed. The bed has been converted from being a rope bed. Holes plugged, and fitted with newer solid wood rails to accommodate a full-size mattress set. The headboard and footboard are identical in size and style. Each one is made using two walnut panels, topped by a rolling pin crest, flanked by low, solid posts that feature mushroom-cap finials. The finish is original. Showing age appropriate patina, more so to the footboard where the finish is lighter along the top due to blankets being hung over it for many years. The overall condition is very good, only issues to report are minor scuffs and an old split in one wood panel on the footboard, wood contracting? The split does not affect the stability of the bed at all, and I mention it only for accuracy. The pattern is a match to the oval dishes on my other auction. The largest serving dish has a diameter of 9 inches from handle to handle and is 5.5 inches high to the top of the rope finial. The smaller round butter dish is 6.5 inches in diameter and 4 inches high. The bottoms are impressed with an English Registry Mark. Hard to read.
