Rinaldo Bohler was an Autrian luthier active in Eighties and Nineties. The output he produced was quite small. He might lesser known than some legendary luthiers but his instruments are high quality. So if Fylde is a bit too steep(and a Takamine is too boring) I greatly recommend this one. The Status Plus model is a rare find in the US. I bought this frame un-used and built it up this year. Frame is almost perfect and very low miles. Ride is smooth. Yet is a stiff climber and decends like it is on a rail. Not only was this type of weight used in the nautical field, I was informed that they played a part in the early railroad industry. I am uncertain however what role they played in either industry. Either way, this item would make a great Nautical or Railroad Decor item. This item weighs 21.0 pounds, measures 11" tall by 6 and 1/2" wide by 2 and 3/8" thick. There are marks and wear on this weight however it is in good condition. I am unsure of what the holes are for on the one side. The previous elder gentleman that owned it stated that it was used at one time that he remembers to ease the weight of opening and closing solid steel doors. Handle still has lots of original coating, scratches and light dents in wood. Solid, no chips or cracks in wood. Blade is smooth to fingernail. And does NOT show any signs of heavy handed sharpening. In fact doesn't show much sharpening evidence at all. Blade edges are sharp. Not rounded. Blade length is 1/16 inch shy of a full 9 inches. Blade is curved so harder to measure. Widest point of blade is 4 and 1/4 inches. Smallest is 3 and 5/8. Overall length is 15 and 1/2 on a diagonal from blade edge to handle end. 3/16 inch steel width in tang. Weighs a heafty 2 lb 2 oz.
