And the copper anodizing is there(some of it's gone where the clamp was) No noticeable abrasions. Helmet with steer horns steel leather rivets motorcycle crazy knight
Auction is for one armor helmet with steer horns on it. This helmet is very sturdy in construction. Whoever made this thing definitely put some time and thought into it. This was not built by an amateur. The main body of the helmet is made of four separate pieces of steel and riveted together. There is a pretty big. Two-piece neck protector on the back. There are steel cheek/face protectors on both sides and are attached with leather. Some of the rivets are steel color and some are gold or brass. The horns on the top are very firmly attached with machine screws and I believe are from a steer. This helmet is very well built and with a liner fits my head rather perfectly. This helmet is definitely not cheap or flimsy in any way and I would wear it on a motorcycle without worrying that it would fly apart. I would estimate that it ways between ... more5 and 10 pounds. Very Old Leather Fire Bucket with Copper Rivets
This is a very old leather fire bucket with copper rivets. The bucket is approximately 12 1/2" tall and 20" to the top of the handle. The base is approximately 6 1/2" in diameter. The bucket is in good condition with some crazing and scratches to the leather. The leather strap holding one of the handle rings has a tear that goes back to the bottom of the leather loop. The tear is not at the top of the leather where it goes over the metal ring. The frame of the chair is sturdy oak with decorative scrolls knotched into the arms. The back and seat are constructed from brown leather attached to the frame with large antique rivets along the top and sides. I do not know the exact age of this chair or the maker. The chair is antique and is not perfect. There are some scratches from use and age. The seat leather is cracked with age. Original finish. Dimensions: 26-inches wide. 38-inches tall, 19-inches deep. This is a set of 15 reproduction German WWII aluminum rivets that are to be used to attach the helmet liner leather to the inner band(see the second picture) They are European made and just like the originals. The number of rivets needed on each liner depends a lot on the size. For the size 61 liner(one of the largest made) uses 13 rivet so you have two extra on top of that. LEATHER FIRE HOSE, COPPER RIVETS, 1870
In 1807 a major advance in fire hose was made by two American firemen from Philadelphia's Hose Company 1 who experimented by using metal rivets instead of stitching to bind the seams of leather hose. Their efforts paid off and became a huge success. Leather hose still had many drawbacks. Including drying out, cracking and bursting from excessive pressure. The introduction of rivets, however, allowed higher pressures and greater delivery of water on the fire ground. The improved hose now was 40 to 50 feet in length and weighed more than 85 pounds with the couplings. The next improvement came in 1821. When James Boyd received a patent for rubber-lined, cotton-webbed fire hose. By 1871, the Cincinnati Fire Department was using the B.F. Goodrich Company's new rubber hose reinforced with cotton ply. It is a little over 12” long with copper rivets. No cracks or other damage. This leather hose has been sold for over $100 a foot in the past. This length is still pliable. Well Worn Roy Rogers Cap Gun Holster. Has Roy Rogers printed on the back and the rivets all have RR on them. The gun holder also has RR on them. The right side is worn more than the left. I think the child wore his gun on the right: At the top there is a rivet that has popped out from the leather and needs to be attached again to the leather as shown in pictures. The leather top shows some signs of use; general overall light knocks and scrapes. Underneath the framework is sound and strong. But there is significant paint loss in places(see photos) The blacl alloy badge has faded so it is hard to read the Brooks logo, and it is quite scratched. WW II combat helmet fiberglass adjustable leather strap rivets Israeli Tsadi
Will try to describe to the best of my ability. It is Army green. Very well made and in great condition for it's age. From looking at similar pictures I am assuming this is a WW II combat helmet. There is adjustable green cotton? webbing to adjust for the head size. The part that goes around the head is made of leather and it has metal clips to attach to the green webbing. Inside the brow of the helmet are embossed characters that I cannot make out which leads me to believe this may be an Israeli helmet. Appears to be the Hebrew symbol Tsadi. I do see some paint drips. Not sure if this is from the original paint or if it was repainted at some point. Did not try to clean this up. Please ask any questions and/or provide additional information. Weighs about 14 ounces. 13 3/4 inches long. Approximately 5 inches at the widest point, this working vintage decorative bellow/fireplace blower would enhance your fireplace. The wood has a beautifully painted picture of a wagon wheel leaning on a post next to a basket of apples, lending great country or cottage charm to your decor. The leather and wood are in good vintage condition. The brass rivets are all in place but do show their vintage charm. The tip has a few small dents. The handle has a very small nick off the wood.
