This specialised clever little tool makes it simple to remove plates from the mounting material. Made of flexible steel with a fine wedge blade. It's easy to slide it between plate& mount. The bend in the handle makes it easy to push down and prise the plate up. The slot fits round the panel pin to easily remove it. Antique Hamilton wooden California job case drawer cabinet is sold in good used condition. Cabinet is about L 72" x H 43" x W 22" and drawers are 32 1/2" x 19 1/4" This is a completely original cabinet. Drawers, and handles early 1900's. Handles all made of steel some have rust. All drawers have extra 2 inch extension so the drawers can be pulled out farther to see the type. Top two drawers do not have typical inserts of job case(see pics) The 48 drawers that do have type dividers are dirty(from lead type some more than others. Counted 7 drawers that have a broken divider or two from heavier lead type. The rest of the drawers are intact. Cabinet and drawers show typical age bumps and bruises, but cabinets bones are good. Did not take a picture of the backside of cabinet, wooden back is tongue and groove and complete. ... moreLocal pickup is ok, or I can work with a shipper that you provide. 11-1/2" long. Has graduations to 58. The little lever on the clamp moves the teeth back and forth by almost 1/8" Clamps nicely. Obvious oxidation; Could stand some shining up.

Printers & Composers Type Tongs or Tweezers for Vintage Hot-Type Letterpress Use
These are not your mother's tweezers. Straight out of her purse! Grab small pieces of lead(led) type with these vintage brawny printer's type tongs(or tweezers. If we must) This pair was part of a near-century-old print shop in Wahoo. Nebraska, which went out of business recently. The compositors(those who assembled the pages to be strapped into the presses) needed these tongs to grab the individual letters. The thick spring-steel tweezers are meant to grab hold tightly. Without bending. Nearly 4" long. No maker or origin name.
