Variable transformer manufactured by Superior Electric,Inc. of Bristol, Connecticut. It is type 116 with a 120 volt input and a 0 to 120/140 volt output(two output settings) It is a grounded, three prong, power wire device with a 7.5 amp rating. The power wire is a new, 12 foot, three wire(grounded) heavy gage cable. It is set to operate at a frequency of 50 to 60 cycles per second in one phase. The output outlet on the variable transformer is a two wire, non-grounded plug. It can be easily rewired to accept a three prong plug. The maximum KV rating is 0.1. I believe that may be another company’s tradename and I don’t see it on this one anywhere. This is an older unit. And the one thing to note is that the single 110VAC outlet is just two prong even though the input AC cord has a ground prong. It has been tested to vary the intensity of an incandescent lamp. And seems to produce a smooth transition as you turn the knob. That is the extent of my testing and NO warranty is offered. However. IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it. Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases. There is some residue from electrical tape on the side where they had it protected from shorting out on the chassis. This was pulled from a working piece of equipment. Check out the pictures to see exactly what you are getting. Shipping will be by USPS for any item under 10 pounds and by FedEx for anything over 10 pounds. International shipping will be by USPS. Here we have a used but very nice Superior Electric variable transformer or powerstat. Type 116B-1159. 10 amp. 115 volt, output 0-145v, 15 amp outlet, on/off switch and 10 amp fuse bay.
