But face it, there are times when it just makes life difficult. Microscopes, balances, phonographs, CD players—all could benefit from the vibration isolation offered by this system. I have tested it as far as I am able, and it behaves as the manual describes. The floor on which I tested it is a fairly bouncy wooden floor, and just walking on it made the lights on the machine flicker. The table's top plate measures 24 x 31 inches, big enough for a microscope AND a turntable. The manual's description of operation: When operating the system for the first time. Set the front panel isolation switch to OFF(red button out) Switch on power at the switch on the rear ... morepanel. The green power indicator lamp will now light and the 8 display LED’s in the right hand block will briefly flicker. The yellow enable LED will flash on and off at about 2 Hz. If severe vibrations are present, or if you place your hand on the table top, some, or all, of the LED’s will flicker. About 30 seconds after switching on the power you may switch the isolation switch to the left. The orange LED will now light up. Indicating that the system is isolating. Place a hand gently on the tabletop. Probably one or more LED’s will come on. Indicating an overload. Learn how much force may be applied without causing an overload. Newport Benchtop Pneumatic Vibration Isolation Platform w/ Self-Leveling 24X27" Here is a used Newport Benchtop Vibration Table. This unit is in pretty good shape. With a nice white top, clean air hose, and no scratches, dents, or stains to the table top. The bottom of the unit has a couple of things wrong with it. One of the self leveling legs is missing and the carrying handle by the air intake manifold has a small piece of plastic missing. Other than that this is a practically new table. Please see pictures for details. Manufactured in September of 2009, this unit measures 24" by 27" which is a size that Newport no longer manufactures. NRC Newport 4’x6’x2” Optical Breadboard/Vibration Isolation Table For sale- an NRC Newport 4’x6’x2” Optical Breadboard/Vibration Isolation Table Top. For some reason Newport doesn’t put the model number on these things anywhere. The holes are on 1” centers. So presumably ¼-20 threads. Also presumably a magnetic stainless top. I will check the threads and try to bring a magnet the next time I visit the warehouse. The stated 2” thickness is the honeycomb core dimension. Not an overall dimension. I think I measured the top plate at 3/16” thick but need to confirm that. So overall it’s going to be something like 2 3/8” thick. The table is in general good physical condition although it had been stored for an undetermined amount of time in an open area with a roof. So it is a bit dusty/dirty. I have a 3x6 TMC table top listed separately that ... morewas stacked on top of this one with some wood blocks in between. The TMC top at least partially protected this one so it is cleaner than the TMC. Some form of hornet or wasp found a home in the TMC. And since there was at least some of this top that wasn’t covered with the TMC I can’t preclude the possibility that they might have plugged a few of the holes in this one with dirt as well. But I didn’t notice any scratches or other damage of interest. And generally speaking I think it should clean up pretty well. Please check out my other listings for more interesting lab. Test, and optical equipment, including the TMC breadboard if you need something smaller. Check back often! Sold as is. As described, as pictured.
