VINTAGE brass dispaly sign - doorstop MAN WITH PLOW & 2 HORSES BURNS plow
This piece I would easily say should be close to 100 years old if not older. It is made of brass and is apx. 11 5/8 inches long. It weighs in at 2.1 pounds and is 5 3/8 inches tall. As you can see it is in good shape without any issues. There is some writing on the back that I can't make out.

This large handmade box/trunk is such a great find! It is a solid wood box completely covered in embossed brass colored metal/tin. The design. Which is on the top and front, is a scene of a farmer and his Clydesdale work horses pulling a plow through the field. The sides are an embossed filigree. The metal sheet was cut, embossed and applied to the wood with small nails. There are 2 brass hinges attaching the lid and a safety chain to keep the lid from falling back. This piece measures 20" long. 15" high and 14" wide. It sits on 4 rubber feet which may have been added later. There are some issues with discoloration on the front just above the horses and on one side. Something must have dripped on it and changed the color(see photos) The hinges have rust on them. Normal wear and tear from many years of use. I believe this piece ... moreis quite old and very unique. It was purchase in an antique shop in Tampa so I don't know who may have made it. You are looking at a team of horses and a John Deere 1 bottom plow I have had on my shelf for the last 10 years or so. I beleive thse to be 1/16th scale but I am not sure. The unit measures 13 inches long, 4 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches high. The plow is a model of a wooden beam John Deere plow. Antique Scottish Cast Iron Door Stops Up for bidding is this pair of antique farmer with his plow and two horses cast iron door stops by Greenlees of Glasgow cast in late 19th century Scotland. Along the bottom of the base of the door stops are the first lines of two different Robert Burns poems. The first door stop shown reads. Wee, modest, crimson-tipped flower, Thou's met me in an evil hour; from the 1786 poem titled“To a Mountain Daisy, After Turning One Down with the Plow” The second door stop has the first line from the poem" To a Mouse. On Turning Her Up in Her Nest with the Plough" It reads. Wee, sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous beastie, O, what a panic's in thy breastie! and just below the plow’s blade you can just see the image of a small mouse. Antique Teal Transferware Scenic Mug Plow Horses Maindenhair Fern Harebells OLD
This is a very charming antique transferware mug. The detailed image shows a farmer leading a pair of harnessed work horses pulling a harrow through a field. The field is surrounded by leafless hedgerows and trees in the distance. The farmer is wearing high boots and a coat. And carring either a rifle or switch. This is a scene of Spring's promise. The cartouche image is surrounded by a geometric aesthetic border. The transfer color is a somewhat rare blue-green. There are harebells on one side of the cartouche. The reverse side of the cup has a spray of maidenhair fern. The interior has another type of foilage. The porcelaneous cup is unmarked. The handle is applied. It was mostlikely made in England by one of the Staffordshire potteries. It is 2 3/4" high and 4" across the top at the handle. The condition is excellent! No ... morechips, cracks, or paint loss. This is a great photo of a farmer and his wife and their 8 children. One child is seated on the plow which is hitched to a pair of horses. It is a pale albumen print. The photo is taken in an orchard. There is minor staining to the mat and soft corners. There are no tears. Creases, bends or marks on the image. The image is about 6& 1/2" by 4& 1/2" With the mat it is about 9" by 7" There is no indication of the name of the family, the place or the photographer.
