Here is a lovely stained glass window panel. Salvaged from a Kingsport, TN home. It dates to the late 1930s. Overall dimensions are 23-5/8" tall by 8" wide. The flower design is 8" high; the blue flower head is 3-1/4" across, and the green leaves measure 5-1/2" across. The caming(metal frame) appears to be bronze. Listing pictures#1 and#2 show the front and back of this window panel. Both sides appear the same in terms of finish; this window can be installed with either side facing out. Or convert this panel to a window-hanging by building a frame for it. For listing pictures#3. 4, 5, I held the panel up to the sun, so you can see how the blue& green flower lights up with transmitted light. Planimeter- Curvimeter 14 cm diameter x 4 cm hand made brass and glass precision instrument. Stockholm? circa 1880 We are pleased to offer this finely constructed lacquered brass and glass antique mathematical measurement tool- something of a hybrid between a planimeter and a curvimeter. Incorporating the core features of a planimeter. The brass frame with two handles is mounted onto a 14 cm diameter by 1 cm thick glass disc with crosshairs at the contact point of a rotating wheel which moves in either direction as the instrument is moved over a surface. The crosshairs were used to locate the tangent in any point of a plane curve and thus through readings taken from the rotating wheel as the instrument traces the path of curved lines plotted on maps and charts e.g. coastlines measure the distance thereof, thus performing the function of a ... morecurvimeter. These readings could also be used to calculate the area of a graphically represented planar region, thus performing the principal function of a planimeter. A homemade Swedish language"calibration chart" present in the case illustrates this usage. The rotating wheel has a scale from 0 to 10 divided into one hundred increments as well as two more parallel numerations from 0 to 10 and 0 to 5 without increments. The fixed wheel has three parallel numerations from 0 to 100, 0 to 50 and 0 to 25. A vertical scale from 0 to 20 is also present on the hinged brass arm running parallel to the helically threaded axle. Cut Glass Bulb Vase heavy thick construction excellent condition
The Vase is a bulb type being narrow at bottom then out in the middle section back in as a type of handle then flares out again at the top. The vase is a diamond pattern on the vase part and wide indents around middle top part where is comes in then flares out again at the top edge. It is 3" wide at the top edge and about 1" at the narrow portion. It's probably 3" at the widest part of the vase then down to 2" at base. Height is 5 6/8" There is no maker mark found. This is a very old glass negative of workers posing on the railroad bridge they are constructing. This was taken in the late 1800s or first few years of the 1900s by a man that traveled the country. It is 8' wide by 5' tall. This is a very cool snapshot of American history. The second photo is my attempt to show you the photo you will get when inverting the negative. The program I have is not made to invert negatives so it will look much sharper and contrast will be way better. Vintage Hollywood Movie Spotlight. Metal Construction With Glass Lens
Here we have a Vintage Hollywood Style Movie Spotlight. I cannot find any markings to denote manufacturer or date. This is a cool old piece in very good condition. The light itself is all metal construction with a glass lens. I have NOT tested this item to see whether it illuminates or not. Please review my numerous pictures in order to to determine condition for yourself. The spotlight measures approx 8 1/2" long by 9" tall(without mounting bracket attached) and weighs almost 6 lbs. This is a very nice old spotlight. Perfect candidate to create a unique retro look floor lamp or use/mount the way it is. Please note; In order to properly pack the light.
