A very cool vintage gauge that measure just under 5 inches in diameter and is in great cosmetic condition but is untested mechanically. This auction is for 1 great antique brass call box skeleton key. This is a typical call box key. Call boxes were common in cities for police and firemen to call in to the station before the days of 2-way radio. It may fit a Gamewell box. But I am not a hundred percent sure becuase the person I purchased it from was not a hundred percent sure either. To give you an idea of length, each square on the graph board is a half inch. Titusville "The Iron Fireman" Porcelain/Enamel Sign with Logo AMERICANA INDUSTRY
Up for auction is a vintage TITUSVILLE"THE IRON FIREMAN" porcelain/enamel sign. Which measures approximately 1 8"x12" This sign is in"used" condition. And has obvious imperfections which I will describe as accurately as possible. First and foremost there is a small 2"x1" chunk taken out of the right corner of the sign, as evident in the photograph. Unsure of how this occurred, as I am not the original owner of this sign. There is loss of enamel surrounding that area, as well as the top two holes where the sign was originally bolted up. There are other small areas of loss of enamel which I have attempted to photograph as well. The sign has areas in which there are green and gray light paint speckels. originally these were much more significant, however I began cleaning it and took a significant amount ... moreof it off. I stopped when I began to feel like the enamel may be in jeopardy of being removed, however I am sure the sign can be cleaned far better than my initial attempts if you put the effort into it, I just didn't want to damage the piece any further. Above the"U S" in the yellow enamel there is a section that has additional discoloration, I originally though it was small scratches and rust, however the"scratches" are not really detectable by touch, so I am not sure exactly what it is, and if it is capable of being removed. There is some additional grit around the bottom left drilled hole, which is the only one that still has a metal grommet attached to it. The sign itself is slightly bent in the upper right corner, to where it is indeed noticeable. I have attempted to show this in 2 of the photographs. Unsure if you will be able to rebend it or not, that is up to the buyer. This sign may have it's issues. But it's a beautiful and iconic piece, and honestly I think it's flaws add to it's character. Pieces like this, when pristine are obviously amazing. however a piece literally taken from a rugged American factory setting really speak

Rare Antique JAPANESE FIREMAN'S JACKET coat vtg japan textile sashiko weave 50's
Vintage Japanese fireman's coat. Was purchased in Japan in 1953-54 during my grandfather's naval service. He has had it carefully stored since. Looks brand new, and is presumably unworn. Any spots you see are camera flash spots/glare. The jacket is clean with no fading, rips, holes, etc. The colors are really vibrant and crisp. Guaranteed to be at least as old as 1954. It has a belt with a metal interlocking clasp. Some patina wear to the belt clasp, looks like it is likely brass. Measurements of jacket are as follows: Sleeves 13" Back collar to hem 34" Front top to bottom hem 32" Shoulder to shoulder 27" Arm pit to arm pit 25" Cuffs 9.5" Belt(adjustable) maximum length 44" Don't know a whole lot about this other than the year it was purchased and that it was purchased in Japan. My grandfather ... morewas told it was a coat for firemen to wear when they fought fires. And that is all he knows. Not sure about the material, but the coat is quite heavy. There is an interior pattern in the coat that looks like some flames and a ladder and possibly a building. Please see photographs for complete details. The only flaws I see on the jacket are a few manufacturing flaws where it looks like the thread was too thick or doubled up, as exampled in last picture. The cap badge dates this item to between 1974-1996. The hat has a small sticky label attached to the inner band stating 6 7/8, which I assume refers to the size of the hat. The circumference is approx. 53cm. Overall. The hat remains in quite good condition for its age. The outer surface remains clean. Very close inspection reveals wear, with some small holes to the felt, as well as some loose stitches. Internally, a brown paper type substance has been attached to the green felt, which has become torn. The green felt beneath remains clean& free from rips. Tall 7 1/4 inch tankard style ceramic firefighter's stein which celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of the Butler, New Jersey fire department in 1982. The department includes the Kinney Hose, Bartholdi Hose, Kiel Hook& Ladder, and the Pequannock Engine Co. and this is embossed on backside. The front has a terrific blue. Yellow and white raised fireman decoration and the tankard is in fine vintage condition without any cracks, chips or nicks. Shipping will be through Priority mail to customers within the U.S. only.
