This is a fabulous 19th century amethyst hand blown apothecary demijohn or carboy bottle. The bottle has a twisted onion shape with applied lip. Rough cut pontil mark at the bottom with good wear from age as well. Measures roughly 13 inches high and 8 inches wide. Great condition. I will ship this item internationally.

Great old green/blue glass wine or liquor demi john or carboy covered in wicker. The wicker is in good condition with only a few cracks in the base wicker. The handle is solid and the body a little grungy in places but unbroken. The cork in the top is not original-in fact it is marked Thermos. Antique 5 Gallon Glass Carboy / Water Jug / Bottle (1939!)
This is not your average change jar or beer fermenter! This beautiful antique 5 gallon glass bottle is from the Distillata Water Company of Cleveland Ohio. The bottle is in great condition. With no cracks or chips. There is some minor surface tarnish(i.e hard water stains) on the outside towards the top, and on the inside towards the bottom but it seems cleanable. The exterior has a beautiful raised glass textured decoration which reads Health! As well as“Drink six glasses every day” The back side is marked DISTILLATA wrapped around the top. And a square glass border in the center which is presumably where a decal used to be. Wrapped around the bottom, there is text which reads“Pure distilled water” and“The Distillata people” The very bottom of the bottle is marked 1939! This beautiful antique 5 gallon glass bottle is from the Distillata Water Company of Cleveland Ohio. The bottle is in great condition. With no cracks or chips. I took the time to completely clean and sanitize the inside(very difficult) and outside of this vessel, so it will be spotless upon arrival. The bottle has a very cool retro glass embossing on the outside which reads“Distillata Jumbo A pure distilled water” as well as“FIVE GALLONS” and“DEPOSIT $1.50” Wrapped around the inside of the circle it reads“THE DISTILLATA CO. 1542 E. 24 th. Here is what I know for sure-it's green glass inside a old wicker basket. I know I really love this piece and that my family has had it for a long time. I have seen this forever and really never have it much thought until I pulled it out of storage So you may know everything there is to know simply by looking at the photos.
