Gorgeous Antique Pair of Bristol Vases! Victorian Bristol Glass was manufactured in the late 19th century. It is known and admired for its hand-painted floral. Bird, and insect motifs. This pair is tan/ecru in color. Known as clam-broth, and has white enamel flowers and leaves hand-painted on the fronts. Each one has a footed base, with a flattened ruffled flared mouth opening. They measure approx. 10 5/8" high, with a base diameter of 3.75" The flattened ruffled top measures 4.5" from edge to opposite edge, with a mouth opening of 2" The girth is approx. 4 1/8" wide. The bottom of each shows the pontil mark where the glass was held during the manufacturing process. Both vases are in exceptional condition for their age. Neither has cracks. Beautiful Pair of Vintage Hand Blown Clam Broth Bristol Glass Vases. The vases are decorated with raised enameling in blue and white colors with a touch of gilt. The design features a stork between tall leaves and flowers. The opposite side of the vases has a floral branch design. The pedestal-based vases have a pinched neck. One vase is marked. 9" and the other vase is marked, 3' SIZE: 8 3/4 inches high x 3 3/4 inches wide at the shoulder CONDITION: One vase has a very tiny nick on the inner rim. This auction is for a vintage rare. Clam broth colored, glass, hand painted, canoe. Unlike most of these pieces it remains unmarked by a souvenir city’s name making it a rare find. It measures approximately 6” long x 2 ½” wide x 2” tall. The dish part is about 1” 1 ¼” deep. It has hand painted purple flower with green leaves on one side and a gold trim around the top. The glass imperfections from its original manufacture just add to its authenticity. I believe it to be from the 1930 era from my research. But am not sure. It has no manufacture marks to positively identify it. This piece has no breaks or cracks. There is an ever so small(about the width of a thumb nail’s end) nick in the edge of the right end. For your consideration A pair of Antique Victorian BRISTOL GLASS Art Glass Dresser Jars, Barber Bottles. Decanters. Vanity Jars, Powder Jars These are all the words used to describe these items through history. Manufactured in the late 19th century. Victorian Bristol art glass is appreciated for its delicately hand-painted botanical motifs; the more finely executed the decoration. The more desirable the piece. The Victorian Parlor served as more than a gathering place for a family and guests, it offered the master and mistress of the house an opportunity to showcase their social status and good taste. These items would have been considered"highly desirable" to showcase. THEY STILL ARE! Description These items are both"clam broth" color with a hand painted"Lily of the Valley" design. They both have fanciful fluted ... morefinial tops that come off and on with ease. Minimal paint loss for their age- it's amazing. Measurements Tall Decanter: 9 1/2" with stopper(7" w/out) x 3" base. The only flaw on these pieces is on the inside neck where the stopper goes in. The stopper is 4" long x 2 1/2" wide at fluted top Small Jar: 7 1/2" with lid(4" w/out lid) x 3" base x 3" mouth opening The lid is 4.5" tall x 3" base x 2 1/4" wide fluted top If that scratch was not on the inside of the taller piece. I would say these items would be considered MINT. However. They are an unbelievable gift from the past for some lucky person to enjoy today! YOU would be proud to have these on display!
