The 2246 is a fairly modern design oscilloscope and one of the last analog oscilloscope from Tektronix. It's also one of the last Tektronix oscilloscopes repairable by component replacement. The 2246 is one of the most versatile analog scope I ever used. The 2246 oscilloscope can greatly reduce time consuming tasks by use of it's SmartCursors™ feature. The cursors allow voltage measurements with on-screen cursors(see photos) Visually indicate trigger level and ground, and make time measurements with cursors or alternate delayed sweep. It offers CRT readout and measures +peak, peak, peak-to-peak, DC, gated volts, and waveform's voltage. Timing, frequency. Four channels. 100 MHz bandwidth with 2 ns/div time base, on screen scale-factor readouts, flexible triggering including auto level and TV Line TV Field. Too many great features to mention. Please check or download for yourself. I did a full functional test in all modes according to Tektronix's service manual and all calibration settings are still well within tolerance. The vertical and horizontal amps are fully verified and adjusted with crystal-based Oscilloscope Calibrator and function generator. This scope operates with a sharp. Bright trace with plenty of brightness in reserve; no burn spots. All controls/buttons operated normally. Very smooth without intermittent problem. Here is a good used CRT that fits Tek 500MHz 7904 and 250MHz 7704A. The 154-0640-05 has the normal P31 green phosphor. However, if you prefer, I will substitute 154-0644-10 which has the P11 blueish purple phopshor that Tek optimized for Polaroid photography(I have 1 of each, if you buy both you get 1 of each) Scopes that had P11 CRT were labeled"option 78" Last photo shows the P11 phosphor version working. Notice it looks rather more white than blue with the common blue filter in front of CRT whereas the P31 looks green even thru a blue filter. At only $200(a tiny fraction of the $6000 it cost new) I will sell you a still working CRT for Tek 2467/B scopes. Despite it only having a relatively low 5000 hours and excellent brightness, it has some of the usual memory imprints found on image intensifying CRTs, when some areas were repeatedly shined on. Imprinting is usually first noticed in areas where readouts land, but on this CRT there are affected areas beyond those. I would not sell it as part of 1 of my 2467Bs, but that's just my preference. Others might not find these imprints as objectionable, especially if the alternative is a dim or dead crt. The white area of the screen(phosphor) shows no discoloration or burn marks. Area around getters is still silvery(not yellow or brown) which indicates vacuum is intact. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. Whatever ... moreyou pay on ebay.
