Deep memory oscilloscope(Megazoom) is very useful in troubleshooting difficult design bugs as it allows you to freeze a waveform and zoom in the fine details without recapturing. With Megazoom. I zeroed-in the design bug in a student project that took the professor a whole hour and still couldn't find out what's wrong with the circuit(I was the TA in an electronics lab) the problem ... morewas that his PLL locks to 2~3x the expected frequency on physiological signal but not on the simulated signal. TAS465 was Tek's 100MHz portable analog scope successor to 465/B(465& 465B did not have cursers and very few offered tv sync) And 2245/A. It cost $2000 new circa 1994, but you can now get it for a tiny fraction, working correctly. It is lightweight(8Kg, ideal for field service) Operating instructions can be copied from Tek's website. I will provide power cord. Unit can operate on 115 or 230Vac. First photo shows a 1MHz fast rise square wave expanded to scope's max sweep speed of 2nS/cm to show risetime of about 3nS. This oscilloscope has been in occasional use on my bench for approximately 10 years. Performing without issue. It has been tested recently and found to be within original specs. Useful bandwidth extends considerably beyond its 100MHz spec. The unit is clean and the trace is sharp and bright. It includes a pouch for accessories It comes with a nearly new HP 9150 probe(150MHz) with accessories. A printed copy of the Tektronix Instruction and Service Manual, and a power cord. The instruction manual will benefit anyone purchasing his first scope(and nice to have for oldtimers, too) I've never had to access the service portion of the manual so this may be both a first and a last oscilloscope. The 647A usually fetches some money well above and beyond the common Tek tube scopes of this era. This unit came from a partial lot that I purchased that contained tons of vintage electronic equipment guessing that's how this senior made his fortune.The unit powers on. Tek also introduced three new plug-ins with the 647A. The 10A2A is an improved version of the dual channel 10A2 vertical plug-in, with bandwidth extended to 100 MHz. The 11B2A is similar to the 11B2 dual time base, but triggers up to 100 MHz. In addition, Tek introduced the 10A1 differential amplifier. It operates down to 1 mV/div sensitivity, and includes a comparison voltage mode with a calibrated DC offset similar to that first offered in the type W plug-in. The maximum bandwidth of the 10A1 is 55 MHz for sensitivities of 5 mV/div and higher. The vertical amplifier contained in the 647A indicator unit(mainframe) consists of NPN and PNP bipolar transistors. The output transistors. Q484 and Q494, are selected 2n3866 NPN transistors.
