I have done my best to picture it from every angle to show it's cosmetic condition. Description This is the current Wilton 500S that is made today except it has a end cap housing that Wilton did away with in around 1998. This is a 1980 model and its in excellent mechanical condition. Handle response is excellent with very little wear on the inside of the collar. Operation is smooth. The original OE serrated jaws are also in very good condition. This vise originally came as a 500N. I added a swivel base assembly with HD handles. The front spindle shows normal wear and its straight with the original finder savers. The anvil was partially destroyed with a grinder and was machined down with the sides chamfered. Guys.Always be careful using a grinder near a vise. A grinders edge will cut thru a vise like a warm knife thru butter. Fellas, this vise is 22" long and pushing 100 lbs. This is a WILTON"TOOL CORP" so you know it's old! Bullet Bench(Machinist) Vise with 3" actually closer to 2.75" Jaws, made at the Chicago, ILL USA plant, so it could be late 1940's. There is a small tweak to the vise that does not allow the jaws to come together perfectly. It could be I assembled the jaws opposite? Not sure. But I used all the original fasteners. The vise is also missing the end dust cap and has no swivel base. The previous owner did some grinding/filing on the key itself, so I have no solid date to offer you. Just a few words of how I refurbished the vise. Gave it a bath in solvent. Then very hot water. Dried it with compressed air. Then, glass beaded every piece of it right down to bare metal. This 101033 Wilton is mint! This vise ended a model type that basically started in the early 50's. as a 9450. This 1-76 model 101033 is the latest I have ever seen for past generation. Production of the current 450S started about 1975. The casting was so nice and smooth. I did not want to paint it. Its exactly the way it came in, no alterations were done to the casting. Its complete, no cracks, welds, or pieces missing. It has new Wilton OE replacement hardened serrated jaws 4.50"W X 1"H. new Wilton copper liners and it will be your option should you decide to either paint it or leave it natural like it is. This is a Wilton vise with a swivel base. It has a 5 inch wide jaw and can open to 4 1/4 inches. It is made of iron. But it is small enough to ship in a medium Priority Mail box. I don't know what shape the box will be in when it arrives but you couldn't hurt this vise unless you ran over it with a tank. It has some cosmetic flaws from use but is nice and tight in lockup and the jaws are straight. It is a good usable hobby vise or for light industrial use. RESTORED Wilton Bullet Swivel Bench Vise 4" Jaws 50 lbs.1971 Made in USA vice
This is the last vise you'll ever buy. Unless you want more than one of course. This old vise is a real beauty. Big and heavy too. That is no small tree stump it's resting on. It wasn't this pretty when I got it. It had sat in a garage for who knows how long. It had about a 1/8" of house paint and crud all over it. It was just begging to be brought back to life. I cleaned it up as much as I could with soap and water and then media blasted it down to bare metal along with some wire brushing. It was completely disassembled. Everything that is removable was removed. After some time in the solvent tank, clean and apart, I could give it a thorough inspection. I was happy to find that the metal is still in fantastic condition. No cracks, no welds and no repairs. That's what you want. You can see it all stripped down in the ... morelast photo. After every piece was completely cleaned and prepped I was able to begin the refinishing. I chose Italian Olive for the color and applied a baked on enamel finish. It should hold up very well. The vise is quite handsome in person. None of these photos capture the color well in my opinion, it's more attractive when you see it. You'll also be stunned at its size and weight the first time you handle it. All of the moving mechanisms and friction surfaces have been freshly lubed with blue, synthetic grease. This vise is ready for decades of hard work. The action is simply fantastic on it. Your eyebrows will lift the first time you screw it in and out. I promise. It's hard to believe how well vises were made back in the day after getting used to the junk sold today in big-box stores. This vise has smooth face jaws and they are in nice shape. You won't need to change them for a very long time. However, a couple of the jaw screws are kind of bunged up where the Phillips screwdriver goes in. This C0 has been stripped. Cleaned, lubed and painted a similar Wilton color. Overall condition is very good. The pipe jaws show little wear and the originals were nice except for one ugly chip off the end so I replaced them. The new owner will receive them. The previous machinist or owner must have had some attachment on the towers. There are 4 tapped 1/4" holes equally located on the towers. I put 1/4" cap screws on. Operation is smooth, handle response is good, it swivels 360 and locks down tightly. This Wilton 9400 has a real hammered finish! Its user might have been a drummer in a band and used this vise like a drum. Good points? I stripped. Cleaned, and lubed it. The older style swivel handles I found to be in excellent condition, The front spindle handle is straight. This 1-67 made Wilton has no cracks, welds or pieces missing. Operation is firm with very quick handle response. Its been fitted with new steel hardened jaws that align up perfectly. It sits on a 360 swivel base and locks down tightly. Very good used Wilton 4" bench vise with pipe jaws(cast into the jaws) and swivel base. This vise has been cleaned and painted. But I made no attempt to dress up the scars it has received from use. The screw(last picture) was in great condition, I simply cleaned the threaded portion with degreaser. Also noteworthy is the screw handle, it is straight and doesn't appear to have ever been straightened. You can operate this vise with one finger. The replaceable jaw faces do show noticeable scarring, but they are usable. The jaws don't close perfectly, but they close tight enough for all but the finest work. As stated the jaw width is 4 inches. On the casting it reads maximum opening 5 1/2 inches, but 4 3/8 inches is the maximum opening with full screw engagement. This is a very good old vise that can give you a lifetime of service ... moreif used properly. This vise was manufactured by DURACRAFT and is obviously intended to be a Wilton knockoff. Although it's not as good a brand as a Wilton it also won't be as expensive as one and still. It actually feels like a really good vise. The action is smooth, no snags in the main screw at all. One finger easy spin out and one finger easy spin in. Here is a Second vise that is a little newer that previous listed. This vintage Wilton Bullet vise. Model number 450, with 4.5" jaws, Opens to about 8" after that will come apart. This has some paint over the factory blue. I have not cleaned it just wiped off some dust and grease ect. the anvil table is a little bit larger, and might be a little stouter made that the 9450? The handle is still straight, the jaws shut tight. This came out of a Mercury Boat dealer repair shop. Use it as is bolt it to your service truck or work bench. They dont make them like this any more. Vintage WILTON bullet vise.. Made in the USA. has 3" jaws, Marked 12-46 on key.
Vintage Wilton Vice. Marked Wilton Vice No 3, Chicago USA. 3" wide jaws, opens to 4 1/4" safely, maybe a little more. Marked 12-46 on bottom of square key. Front jaw is real nice, rear jaw is OK, swivel base. It does have a two chips out of cast iron directly under the rear jaw, see pencil pointing at chips, both sides are the same, same size chip and everything. Doesn't hurt the function, but they are there. The vice was cleaned and painted hammered finish green, the vice opens and closes super nice, swivels real nice, and jaws line up good. A really nice vice, even though there are a few chips missing, don't sell it short.

The vise has it's battle scars here and there near the jaws. The handles all of them are poker straight. The key has a 10-65 date I do believe. These are hard to find and very hard to find in non leaking condition. It came with an air operated hydraulic pump and a foot pedal with hoses when new. I do not posess these items but wish I did! It was called Wilt-o-matic vise in the catalogs. This is a sound example of a hard to find Wilton vise in perfect working condition. This weighs almost 60lbs. Description I bought this vise because it was vintage USA down to the meatball handle and nice rounded ends on the handle. This could have been an early unbranded Prentiss made vise. The jaws were old style forged on and worn. I updated for an easy raplacement in the Wilton 3 1/2 W X 3/4" The cost of this vise. The paid labor in milling back and installation of the jaws, the costs of the new jaws, fellas, this vise is selling for basically what I have into it. Its in exellent condtion. The other side shows Wilton vise No. 3 Pat Pend Made in USA. It has been repainted and cleaned up. End cap is dent free. New Carriage bolts and Acorns. i purchased this old Wilton vice at a ranch house estate sale& auction last year. i'm not sure how old this vise is but my estimate is 1930's-1950's era. i can't believe how heavy. Well made& stout this thing is. works perfectly. has 2 sliding support rails as opposed to just one like most other hobby vises of this size. heavy duty for it's size. jaws measure 3" across. the word"Wilton Chicago" is embossed on the front, right above the handle. handle is missing. or a previous owner purposely replaced the handle w/ a large old nail. over all a very nice vice& can't beat the price! opening bid less than $15! old vice is made in the USA. built better, heavier& stronger than any import chinese vice of this size!

I have for auction this vintage Wilton pattern makers multi use under mount bench vise the elongated/ pattern jaws measure 4' wide and the other. Wood working jaws measures 7' wide. The vise opens up comfortably 8 1/4' the vise is in good + used condition. It is as found right out of an estate of a woodworker. It is in need of a good cleaning. There is nothing broken or repaired. There is some wear to the top of the carpenter jaws, The pattern jaws are slightly out of alignment. the wood spacer plates are glued to the vise. I am sure they are an easy replace if the new owner wants to or needs to. Snap On vise *DEBRANDED* Wilton vise rebrand?
This auction is for a debranded Snap On vise. The metal sticker was removed by my niece and unfortunately I never found it. Some rust residue and paint flaking but otherwise in fine working condition. I'm not sure if this is true. But several people told me that Snap On vises are rebranded Wilton vises. Whether or not this is true is something I can't guarantee. I haven't had the time to research it and I would simply like to get rid of it.
