This was found at an estate sale of a woman going into a rest home and it looks as the darn thing was hardly used. American made by Wilton the vice has a 3 1/2" wide jaw and extends to 3" out. Ready to use right now, just bolt it to a bench. Or it would be an easy restoration, mostly paint and maybe a new set of jaws. Plain base vise, has 3 1/2" jaws, opens to max of 5 1/2" There are no cracks in the castings, original, blue paint is mostly gone, jaws have some small chips, please see the pictures, one jaw screw is a replacement. Rear cap is dinged. Vise has just been disassembled and greased. Working perfectly. This is from when Wilton was in Schiller Park, Ill. The spline is stamped 670, which, I believe, means it was made June, 1970. The main casting is marked 101020. The nose casting is marked 835. Any questions, just message ... moreme. Up for auction is this vintage Wilton No. 5 bullet vise. The vise measures about 11.75 inches long and stands about 5.5 inches tall. The jaws are 3 inches wide. Capacity is about 4.5 inches. There are two brass jaw shields on this vise; one was loose(see last photograph) The second shield needs its legs bent out a little bit to remove. I did not remove the second shield, but assume the steel jaw underneath looks in the same condition as the jaw pictured. The vise body has paint loss and surface rust. The vise is fully operational. All of the pieces look original. Not sure if the brass shields were made by Wilton or shop/owner made. Great shape late model and still made in the Schiller Park facility where the great ones all came from, before Wilton got bought out. This vise is in excellent original condition. Original greenish/blue flaked paint still in great shape. Has been used very little, jaws in excellent shape. Vise is very smooth and true, ram does not wobble at all, anvil section has one small stain I have not tried to remove, and no hammer or strike marks. I have two Wilton bullets and use them in my shop everyday, this is one of, if not the, nicest used Wilton vises I have seen. It has not been reconditioned or restored, there are no repairs, and I took the vise apart to clean the old grease pack out. Vintage WILTON quick release woodworkers vise
I have a vintage quick release WILTON woodworking vise. It mounts under your work bench. The jaws are 10" wide X 4" high. the vise opens slightly more than 12" It has a retractable dog on the front jaw. The number on the handle is 161072-1 and has a solid hardwood handle. I'm starting off at the low price of $40.00 because the clip spring that releases for quick open and close is broken and I don't know where to look to replace it. Can be wired fast for normal open close operation. It opens and closes freely.

Here we have a rather unusual vintage Wilton Mechanics Vise. This vise is in fantastic condition& shows little use& no real abuse. It is as found& could use some minor cleaning. It is the first one that I have come across like it. Most of the Mechanics vises that I have come across have a folded or"U" channel for the main beam. This one is solid square steel& it has a square iron or steel plug in the end to keep trash out of the lead screw. It is made like the bullet but only square. It has 4 in. jaws& opens up to about 5 in. safely. It weighs a little over 30 lbs. on the bath scale. It broke my postal scale. It is all original other than a few paint splatters& a small nick out of the anvil pad. It mite be missing a set of pipe jaws unless it came that way. It is marked" WILTON MECHANICS VISE. Wilton Bench Vise 4 in Jaws, Polished Anvil, Blacksmith Craft Armorer
Medium duty Wilton bench vise. With 4 in wide jaws. Jaws close tight, serrations are crisp. This tool did not see much use over its life. It is a tough, rugged constructed vise. This is the perfect size and weight for armorer work. Because of the relatively compact size it is portable to take on field outings and will tote nicely in a small toolbox. The anvil surface is adequate for most field repairs. It has a coat of what looks like Rustoleum Red over grey primer that makes a nice smooth finish. Which helps the vise stay clean. Slide Handle is smooth and straight, no evidence of having been over tightened or deformed. The anvil is polished smooth with some very light surface blemish. I wouldn't call it jewelers grade but it's pretty darned close. Good for flattening and working soft metals- such as silver plate. Wind chimes, spoon ... morejewelry, copper, brass, tin, sheet metal, etc. No cuts, breaks, cracks, gouges or other signs of abuse. Acme thread screw is protected under the cast iron U channel. The retractor mechanism has a s pring to take up backlash. Which is a nice feature. The screw threads are in very good shape, opens and closes smoothly. Has a healthy coat of fresh axle grease on the screw and slide surfaces. Weighs about 15 lbs. I need to take more pictures. But feel free to ask any questions in the meantime. The Wilton bullet has come a long way in their 4" swivel evolving from this 1st generation 36 lb 4" from almost 70 years ago to today's 60 lb 400S. One thing both have in common is the quality, That can't be changed. This is the smallest of the 4" bullets, ideal for a smaller bench work cart, etc. It was cleaned, lubed and repainted. It has some welding splatter around the body, wear marks on the spindle nose, handle, and top slide, jaw towers, and dented back cap, none of which are an issue. All I would consider normal usage over 68 years. Operation is smooth, it locks down nicely with its original acorn nuts. Guys, the jaws should be a major importance on all vise purchases. I've replace the original laws with new serrated ones and you will ... morealso get the original ones with I have machined smooth. Take into consideration that this is not a big vise and should be used for light, and light/medium work. With proper use, it will turn 100 years without any problems. There is a lot of surface rust but everything functions properly and well. There is a weld repair on it and it can be seen in the 6th, 7th, and 8th pictures. Vintage 1953 Wilton 3.5" Combination Pipe& Bench Vise w/ Swivel Base Model C-0 This collectible 1953 Wilton Model C-0 3 1/2" Combination pipe and bench vise is in good overall condition. The vise opens and closes smoothly with little to no play at all. I actually purchased this vise second and and when I got it someone had decided to paint over the old paint. I decided to strip it down to the original metal which took me almost 2 hours and as you can see it looks good with no breaks or cracks anywhere on it. The only issues are the one jaw needs a replace as a piece broke out of it and the is one small chip in one of the pipe jaws but it is very small. Other than that the vise is in very nice condition. The jaws are 3 1/2 inches and it opens to 6 inches. I was not sure what color this vise was originally so I will leave that ... moreup to its new owner. Wilton Tradesman 1750 Swivel Combination Bench Vise 5" Jaws 43 Lbs. bullet vice
Full specs at the bottom of listing. I suggest you bolt this one down quick because this vise looks like it's ready to speed off. I've painted hundreds of vises and. To be perfectly honest, it can get a little boring so it's fun to mix things up. I decided that a nice set of racing stripes could be interesting and I think it looks pretty amazing actually. The gray color is Satin Granite Enamel and the stripe/base color is called Satin Pimento but it looks to me like orange with a little red in it. It's a very nice looking combination and is immediately striking in person. The paint is three coats, applied to warm cast iron and each application was baked on at 200 degrees for 30 minutes. I really like this method and I think you will too. The entire vise was disassembled. Stripped of old paint and cleaned inside and out. All ... moreof the steel hardware was cleaned as well. I put all new threaded fasteners on this vise; jaw screws, collar screws and swivel lock bolts. All of the female threads were chased with a tap and work smoothly. The jaws, as you can see, are in very nice condition and line up parallel and flush, just as they should. Everything was put back together with synthetic grease on the friction surfaces. No paint is on any friction surface by the way. To cap things off brand new Wilton foil decals and rubber finger savers were installed. I need to mention that this was a well used vise when I got it. I know it looks nice but please don't expect to receive a brand new vise and this one was obviously in service. Things like the handle is not 100% straight. But it's very close. You'll find little nicks from tools here and there, mostly on the anvil area and towards the top front of the round bare-metal slide. I don't mean to scare anybody off, this is a fine working tool with no deal-breaking issues at all, it's simply that this vise wasn't kept in a crib but used as intended. 1941 WILTON BULLET MODEL 930 VISE WITH SWIVEL BASE - CHICAGO USA - 3" JAWS
Estate find. This auction is for a original 1941 Wilton 930 bullet swivel base vise with 3" jaws. Chicago, USA. They were original made in Chicago before moving to Schiller Park, Illinois.The slide is stamped 4- 46. Wilton original gauranteed their vise for five years and stamp the end of the expiration date on the slide[ 1941 + 5 years = 1946. The vise was taken apart and all paint stripped before being spraying with self etching primer and then 2 coats of rust-oleum hammered verde green spray paint. Research found that was the closest paint match to the original color. The jaws are original[ smooth surface inside] I flipped the jaws so the the better looking edge is on top- the other edge were hammered on a little and are now facing down. see photos] There are a few marks also on the top of the body from use[ see photos] The\original ... morejaw attaching screws were a little messed up[ threads were fine- just hard to get screwdriver in screw slots] so I replaced them with the proper sized 10-32 x 1/2" cap screws. see photos] The only other[ new] thing I added besides the cap screws was a washer under each of the capped nuts for the swivel base[ see photos. Everything else is all original and in very good shape. I lightly greased the parts that needed to be before they were reassembled. The vise opens and closes and swivels side to side smoothly with one finger operation. Weight is about 20 lb and length about 12 inches. As with all my auctions this is sold as is so email all questions before bidding. Vintage Wilton Shop King Swivel Bench Vise 5" Jaws 29 Lbs. Made In Chicago USA
Full specs at the bottom of listing. This is as good as it gets. If you follow my vise auctions at all then you may know I'm always on the lookout for good quality Shop King vises and. In particular, the hard-to-come-by 5" jaw versions. I've had more than my fair share, I won't pretend I haven't. So it's with sizable Shop King experience that I say this is easily the nicest one I've ever come across and that's really saying something too because I've brought home some beautiful examples over the years. Just look at the dozen large gallery photos. How many times do you think this vise was used? A dozen maybe? For as old as these are, early 1950's, this one is amazing to me. After a refresh it looked even better. The original red paint was in nice condition but it had some other color paint spills on ... moreit plus things just get old looking over time so I wanted to spruce this up. The thick red paint was stripped with multiple applications of aviation gel then I gave it a quick media blast and rinse. It looked really nice naked and I halfway entertained the idea of selling this one with just bare cast iron and a clear coat. That would have worked here to show off the pristine metal condition. But. As I'm sure you're well aware, I enjoy painting things and I chose a nice color combo for this one, a little more reserved for me than usual. The top portion is Flat Aluminum enamel and the bottom is Hammered Verde Green which is a match to Wilton's current finish on their bullets. That's a good connection to Wilton vises of today. Before painting I warm the pieces to 200 ° and then spray on three coats of each color. Every application of paint is baked in the oven at 200 ° for 30 minutes. This makes for a great finish. All of the steel hardware is cleaned to work and look as new as it can possibly be. Any over-spray on friction surfaces was removed and a light coating of synthetic lubricant applied to the main screw. I go very light on exposed screw spindle lu
