The handle is straight and shows very minor wear. I've fitted this vise with new hardened serrated steel jaws purchased at which align up perfectly. And also new OE Wilton copper liners. Old VTG Primitive Tool Large Tongs Clamp Vise Wood Screw STEAMPUNK Wall Hanging
This is a really cool Vintage Primitive Tool in the form of a large Tongs like device made of Wood and even with a Wood Screw. Could be used as a cool Decorative Wall Hanging Approximately 26 inches in height and 15 inches wide by 4 inches deep. Really nice patina. Really nice work with the wooden screw and the openings made in the wood piece at the top to allow both arms to pivot within. The only metal appears to be a several nails(or other fasteners) used to let the wood pieces pivot the metal pin you see through the screw portion in one of the pictures that prevents the screw from being rotated out. Another cool thing is the metal pin through the wood screw has worn(from use) a circle in the part of the arm that it is closest to. A really cool piece. The primitive craftsmanship is incredible. The general purpose jaws are made for easy removal. They have centering pins and remove easily. This reveals the larger jaw surface. This came from an estate sale where I dismounted it from a workbench. I stripped off the many layers of old chipped. And cracked paint, and painted it red as I could see the original color was. It looks to have some welding possibly done to the back of it as if someone repaired it at some time? But I really don’t know if it was repaired, or that’s the way it originally was. This auction is for a used but very well constructed fly tying vise. I've never been able to determine what brand this vise is but the construction is superb. The only marking I could find is the letter"I" on top of the clamp assembly. This would make a great little vise to tie your favorite trout and other species of fish patterned nymph. Thompson low profile Fly Tying Vise
This is a low profile Thompson vise(not sure if it came that way or was adapted) With little ware(a couple spots that can be seen in photos) Jaws are in very good shape and easy to adjust. I got it with what looks to be an extra set of jaws for different size hooks. I am 99% sure it works with this vise but I have not tested. I am sure if you do not like the low profile you could get a replacement shaft. Also note that the c-clam height adjustment screw is missing. He did not feel it was necessary to put the brand on. The 9-1/2" jaws close tight. I wish my teeth did as well. The grey paint is in good condition. All the screws and cam work smoothly. Consider the file holder a bonus. It has quite a bit of surface rust which does not affect its usefulness. It should clean up well. However, with just a bit of elbow grease and perhaps some rust remover. The file in the photo is not in the best of condition. Awesome quality chamfer cutter. Also works great as a small face mill. Up to 10000 RPM. It also says ATKTO6 MS-1369. The inserts in it are lightly used on 2 of the 4 points. I will also include the torx wrench for the inserts. 3/4 inch shank. not a mark on it. Only 2 points of the inserts are used. End mills are all brand new Cleveland brand. Great quality. There's a 3/8 X 3/8 TICN. A 5/16 X 3/8 HSS, a great 9/16 TIN with a 1/2" shank, a 11/32 TICN with a 3/8 shank and a brand new.251 HSS reamer. Description: This Black& Decker Workmate Hobby Crafter is model no. 79-025. This workmate has an 8” capacity and the original user manual is included. I gently wiped this workmate down and vacuumed it off so it is pretty clean and it does not show any major signs of wear or use. The only notable flaw is one of the grips is missing a rubber pad. The other 3 grips all have the rubber pads so I do not think its would be that hard to come up with a single replacement pad. These Hobby Crafters are an extremely useful item to have. But they are getting harder to harder to find.
