I do not want to do anything to it and possibly ruin it, but I am sure it is probably and easy repair to someone who knows what they are doing. Some surface scratches consistent with it's age(around 60 years old) The catch on the bottom that holds the crumb door works fine. Because of the age I am selling as is. Powermatic Vertical Bandsaw Model 143 metal & wood cutting
This saw works good but now has only two speeds because the owner removed both 4 speed pulleys(which gave it 8 speeds from 80 to 3.000 F.P.M. There is one 3 speed pulley there but the corresponding pulley is only a single groove. He told me the two speed transmission gives an excellent speed for steel(in low) and the other speed is good for aluminum, other non ferrous materials and wood. It is wired 240V 3 phase. This is a used machine and does have marks throughout the machine. The Gold color is nice all over the machine. There is not a motor cover on the machine. There is an addition wooden worktable that is a mdf board currently and may need replacing(cutting of a new board for flatter and smoother surface) The cast Iron table is very flat. There is a slight browness to the table but it is clean and not rusted. The table has been coated with a coating to protect it during storage and shipment. Powermatic Industrial Woodworking 12" Lathe. Includes all covers (shown removed)
Complete usable basic tool in good condition with everything pictured attached to the lathe included. And a few extra items. I have not used this tool, but I checked it out to make sure it ran well. Covers removed for inspection of inner components. Powers up. Power head oiled and checked for smooth operation. Runs through speeds just fine. Sounds good. Belt is in good condition. Tail stock turns. Probably could use oil before being put into service. Has a 4" and 6" tool rest(maybe they are 6" and 8"anyway. A small one and one a bit larger) Has tool rest wrench. Missing faceplate wrench. I cannot see the motor plate so Hp is not known. No reserve on this auction. I have listed a set of Carter Guideall 400 bandsaw guides that came off a Yates Y30 bandsaw. When removed. These were funtional, but show signs of use and some noise. Obsessive types may want to go thourgh and rebild everything; if you just want to get your own saw running and make sawdust, these are complete and currently work, but there is some noise. The new price on these is over $650 from Carter; chances are you will get them for MUCH less. They can be seen on a working saw with an appointment. 3/4" mounting posts and right angle bend in photos not included as they are needed for the saw. Ask a lot of questions. Blue Schwinn Powermatic frame chromoly. 20.25" top tube center-to-center. Overall good/fair condition, would definitely make a good rider. Has some scraps and a few chips in the paint but not terribly abused. The worst scrap is on the underside of the down tube up towards the head tube also on the scrap is a small ding(see picture 9) The dropouts look good and are fairly beefy. The decals are all there but have some age cracks. Takes a threadless fork.
