They built the B-24 Bombers there from what he said for the war effort. He tried to sell them at a yard or rummage sale back in the day, still has the price and the date he purchased them. Here is a Lufkin inside micrometer set. The inside of the lid is marked No. 680B INSIDE MICROMETER FOR MEASURING INSIDE DIAMETER OF RINGS CYLINDERS. GAGES, ETC. RANGE 1 1/2- 12 IN. BY THOUSANDTHS and has directions for use and adjustments. This has 8 tubular rods that can be added to either end or both of the micrometer. The handle can be looped around any part of the tube. Rod sizes are: 1/2, 1, 2, 2 1/2, 3, 3 1/2, 4, and 6 IN. This has a wood case. The case measures about 6 7/8" by 4" The case is in great shape with only a few small scratches and has the original latch and the original label with instructions is all there(no tears) and is easy to read.
