Starrett inside micrometer No. 124a with five rods and case. Nice shape. I have many lots from an old time machinist coming up. The gentleman’s wife said he used to build satellites and some of them are for smaller work. See details and pictures for more info. Details: Boxed set. The tool is not marked with a number. Probably a No. 124a. Something is missing from the case and it may be a handle extension. The rods present are marked: 2-3. 3-4, 4-5, 6-7 and 7-8. Fine Print. Everything I sell is old and used. Up for sale is a Mitutoyo 368-424 bore micrometer. You will receive one 10 to 11 inch bore micrometer. Without the case.if you want the case you will need to pay extra shipping, it does not have the lid. These have been in my garage for some time and have accumulated some surface rust on the last half inch of the tips. The micrometer works just fine without any obvious defects. The 7-8" head will come with this for free. It does not have the handle but the 10-11 handle does fit the 7-8" head. I always ship same day if paid immediately. About when Pratt& Whitney brought out their first Jig Bore, it had this system on it for locating table and saddle within a QUARTER OF A THOUSANDTH. They are called end measures They are used in conjunction with TENTH indicators permanently mounted on the machine. And widely adjustable stop rods to place one end of the end measures against. This is the 124 series.I have looked at other sellers sets and I don't see anywhere that their is supposed to be a 2" rod. Even though most listings call it 2-12" rods. 2 NSK Japan Inside Outside Micrometer 0-1" and 2-2.5" w/ Wood Case Nice Cond.
This is a pair of NSK Japan micrometers in very nice working condition. One comes in the original wooden box and is complete I believe. All the pieces are clean and solid. It comes with two 2" extensions a 4" extension a 1" extension and a.5" extension. Each is labeled and it totals 12" which is what the box calls it. It has a lock on it to freeze your measurement. The second micrometer measures from 0-1" also with a locking mechanism.the outside micrometer has no box but it has been carefully stored in a custom bench that had covered cubbys where this hung. I tried to show the condition in the pictures. They are very nice. The box for the inside micrometer is in good condition with a label that says 12" PO2 I NSK Micrometer Japan. Starrett No.122 E&M 7 inch Micrometer Vernier Calipers Inside Outside
Up for auction is this very nice. Vintage Starrett micrometer, Model No. 122 E&M in a wooden case. I don't know anything about micrometers, but this one seems to function correctly. The calipers slide the length of the bar and the locking mechanisms work. The caliper adjusting screw works correctly. One side is marked in inches and the other in millimeters. There is some wear and scratching to the micrometer, but nothing that affects its usefulness. The box is in very good condition with signs of wear but still very nice looking. Please see the high resolution photos for details. Let me know if you have any questions or would like to see more photos. The measuring length of the micrometer is 7 inches. This gage has been in storage for some time and the rod mechanism that works the dial indicator is a bit sticky. The dial indicator on its own works perfectly so it seems like the rod that activates the indicator will need some cleaning/lubrication.
