This is a power house crimping machine. Even though it's an older model it still uses current 8 segment dies or fingers. Not the old obsolete 6 segment dies like the old Gates hydraulic hose crimpers. Since these are individual dies held in place by the die shoe. You can use this machine as a steel tubing swaging, crimping or tube reducing machine. Again since these machines use individual dies. unlike the Parker Parkrimp hose crimper or Dayco hose crimping presses) you can also custom make your own dies for many many different ... morecrimping or forming operations with 60 tons of power all at the press of a button or foot switch. Custom dies are easy to make for these. How? just machine a round tool steel bar to the corresponding large taper diameter and length. Then bore the center to whatever special profile you need. Then machine the outside taper. Send that out to heat treat. Then when you get the blank back, just wire EDM the segment profiles out radially and you've got a complete set of custom hardened dies. It's that easy. Most other crimping machines want allow you to do this in that their dies are sets made together or encapsulated segments some how or another etc etc. So most other machines will only crimp hydraulic hose couplings and that's about all. I might also add in making up hydraulic hose assemblies you always want to use the OEM manufacturers couplings with the correct hydraulic hose designed for that coupling and crimped to the manufacturers specifications. Otherwise you can get into a liability situation. Not to mention it could be dangerous.
