Clausing lathe dial indicator mount with AMES 282 indicator, travel stop
For sale is WHAT I BELIEVE to be a Clausing lathe dial indicator holder with AMES indicator installed. I purchased this on Ebay last year when it was advertised as being for a South Bend lathe with poor pictures. Needless to say. It wasn't for an SB lathe. I have done hours of research trying to figure out what it fits. The dimensions and angles show it be be for larger Clausing lathe. Please study the pictures closely to be sure I am not incorrect. I do not have access to a Clausing to check it on. It has a tapped hole for a bolt with Jam nut to make this a travel stop as well, you can see it in the 4th picture. Low starting bid and no buy it now because I'm not 100% sure on exactly what I have here. Payment by PayPal only. USPS priority shipping with tracking.

For auction is a lantern lathe tool post with a 0.59" wide opening. The base is 1.44" OD. The main body is 1.180" OD, the overall height without the clamp bolt is 4.07" The rectangular base measures 1.76" x 1.88" x 3/8" high& is counter bored for the tool post base. Also included is a second tool post with a 1.50" OD base. 1.18" OD main body, an overall height of 3.93" This second tool post has a base that would need to be turned down to fit the base for the other tool post& would need a 7/16"14 clamp screw, which is smaller than the clamp screw furnished with the other tool post.

Clausing 221 12"X36" metal lathe with tooling. Powered by 230v 3 phase motor vee belt with reversing switch. There are 8 spindle speeds. All gears look fine. No chipped teeth observed. Acessories and tooling: Jacobs rubber flex collet chuck with collets, 18" 4 Jaw chuck, follow rest, original thread dial, chip pan, 10" face plate, wrenches, dead centers, travel stop, headstock MT adaptor, lantern toolpost with pictured holders, drill chuck and taper attachment. The lathe has some dinges, scratches and minor dents. There is a minor lip and minor scratches on the hard ways near the chuck on the ways otherwise look decent. The backlash is a little over 1/4 turn compound and almost none in the crossfeed. The power feed and threading work fine. Lathe runs fine and all functions seem to work good. Spindle is L00 with 1 3/8" ... morebore. It is on the factory cabinet with drawers. The quick change chart is a little hard to read but I have a hard copy of it. You are bidding on a used Royal 5C collet closer assy for a metalworking lathe. I purchased this new about 15 years ago. And mounted it to a 13" Sheldon lathe. I do not think it was used more than 6-10 times. I upgraded to a LeBlond lathe and sold the Sheldon. I kept the closer because it was still like new. I do not remember exact purchase price, but it was around $1000 when I purchased it. This is a universal system and it can be adapted to almost any lathe with a 1-3/8" inside diameter spindle bore. Comes just as pictured, including the sleeve which mounts in headstock spindle and hold's collets. It fits a#5 Morse Taper which is pretty standard on these size lathes. You will not find a better condition unit, unless you purchase it new. It is a little dusty right now from sitting for the past 15 or so years, but will clean ... moreup great!
