Vintage Kohlert Bixley Clarinet w Aligator Style Hard Case Germany Band Music
Here for auction is what I believe to be a vintage Kohlert Bixley clarinet. It is in its alligator style case. The case has tape on the handles. I see no cracks. Breaks or any repairs to the instrument. On one of the ends is marked; Made In Germany and then I believe the serial# is marked as: 74329. It has all of its pads. The cork is there and the pieces to this instrument fit together extremely well and not loose. It appears to be made not of wood but possibly resonite if I have that correct. Measures 29” end to end. There is no reed so I am not able to test the sound although I am not a woodwind player. It appears to be very clean but obviously has been used. Not sure as to the date of this but the serial# should be able to tell this. The pieces are all marked Kohlert Bixley although the mouthpiece is marked: Perfectone, Elkhart Ind. It ... moreappears to be the same color and looks to be made of the same material. It may have come with the instrument originally, I just have no idea about these things.
