There are some marks near the headstock and also light pitting in spots but the rest of the bed has only some scratches and discoloration. What might look like wear grooves are very light but will not catch a nail. Other than that. The ways are in good condition. The rack is in good condition. I have cleaned it up a bit but still needs a good cleaning. Local pick up is preferred but I will ship via UPS Pack and Ship services. Total costs to ship will likely be between $100 to $150 including insurance.

I found this brochure at a St. Paul estate sale that contained many of the belongings of the gentleman who was the recipient of this brochure. I also bought a beautifully made jigsaw puzzle with some of the smallest little twists and turns which I’m pretty sure was made by Russell Sutmar. I didn’t get to the basement but now I wish I had because my husband did and he said that there were lathes. Etc. down there but most was in some disarray. I read a little about the Atlas Press Co. and this brochure likely came out with the introduction of the shaper in 1937, or shortly thereafter. Condition is not perfect, it got looked at quite a bit, but carefully, and none of the folds have split except for a ¼” split, in from one edge. For this item. Vintage wood lathe tool rest base L 505 Craftsman Atlas Shopsmith cast aluminum
Up for bids and with no reserve is a vintage cast aluminum wood lathe tool rest base. I'm not sure what brand this is. Possibly Shopsmith? note the locking knob is on the side not the end as most seem to be. Overall in nice shape other than some obvious paint loss from use. It does not have any cracks, repairs or damage of any kind. Looks to be a dark green wrinkle finish paint, the knurled aluminum knob turns freely and the 7/8" diameter hole for the tool rest post is clean. Overall dimensions are 9-1/2" long 2-1/4" wide and 2-1/8" high and has L 505 cast into it. Boxed shipping weight is 2 pounds and I will carefully package and ship it promptly.
