I find that the ones removed from the backings are far to easy to break. COOL! Great for a class project, or for testing the magnetic properties of items. In a box they area over 2 pounds worth. NEODYMIUM HARD DRIVE MAGNETS W/ OUT THE BACKING PLATE, LOT OF 40
For your consideration: I have a lot of(40) neodymium hard drive magnets(5) sizes. Length is 45mm. To 35mm, width is 25mm to 15mm and the thickness is 2mm to about 1mm(sizes are general and not exact) This is a group of(2) large magnets and(38) medium size magnets, the thicker the magnet the stronger, this group, so if its small and thick it will have a strong pull. These are taken from hard drives and separated from the backing plate, except I don't destroy the nickel plating(please don't ask how I do it, I won't say) There maybe some blistering and witness marks, but the plating is still intact. If the inside is exposed to the air the magnet will corrode and form a black powder. The magnets are very strong for their size and have both a north pole and south pole on each face. These can be used for: super strong refrigerator ... moremagnets, magnetic brakes, power generation, science experiments or removing black sands from your sluice box or gold pan. These magnets are unforgiving they will literally fly across the table and slam into each other with enough force to break and or shatter them(eye protection) Once they break they cannot be fixed and will break down into the black powder. They will pinch your fingers so wearing gloves will prevent this from happening. To separate them, push one side out and it will pivot out exposing 1/2 the magnet which can be pulled away from the rest of them. These will ship with Tyvek strips between them to cushion and make separating them easier. You can place them against an edge of wood and slid apart. But be careful they are fragile and will break easily. Penny is use for perspective and not included with item. Item is from a none smoking pet free environment.
