Up for bid is the vintage AMPERES A.C. GAUGE Model 476. No. 99310 by WESTON ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENT CORP. of Newark, N.J. c.1950-60's(best guess) as seen in the pictures/ as described in the title. I know little about it but it appears to be a higher-end piece of vintage equipment. The approx. 2-1/2" diameter x 1-5/8" deep gauge is mounted in a steel sheet metal housing with brass& plastic knobs at top. Glass is real, NOT plexi. The dial face looks to be a brushed metal material and the original graphics/text is perfectly preserved(completely visible, legible and with great contrast) NO scratches or cracks to glass. The vast majority of this piece wears its original enamal/japanning. Most of the exposed steel is at the dial surround(see 3rd pic for close-up) The wires connecting the gauge to the knobs are both present and ... morevery good. Appears to be in excellent vintage condition with NO major defects whatsoever. I think it VERY likely that it is fully functional. There isn't any physical damage to report. The heavy metal body looks to be in good condition. The face doesn't have cracks or chips. I'm not for sure if this is a liquid or gas/steam type of gauge. You'll have to determine that. Gauge measures pressure 0- 4000. On the bottom of the face is has. Marshalltown IOWA USA Mfg Co. Measures 4-7/8" across the front. A little over 4" front to top of fittiing. The in-flow hole in the fitting measures nearly 3-16" across. It's heavy. Weighs nearly 2 pounds.
