It is a sturdy(maybe stainless steel? air cylinder with stabilizing"feet" welded on. The right side of the cylinder has a tapped port for various air chuck sizes. The left side has a manual pressure release valve. Along the top there are tapped ports for the two gauges. The left gauge is an Ashcroft Temperature Compensated Test Gauge. 0-1,500 psi with 5 psi subdivisions. The Ashcroft Gauge face has"Accuracy Grade 3A 25% on its face. The Ashcroft Gauge still has the Gaugemaker's Certification label signed by Betty Costanzo! The right gauge is a USG Solfrunt 0-1,000 psi gauge with 10 psi subdivisions. The right tapped port has a ... morequick-disconnect mounted. This item was salvaged from a now-defunct company whose main manufacturing business was the construction of railway tank cars. Our best guess is that this is a test rig that was used by the employees to calibrate the pressure test gauges that you would expect to be used by a company manufacturing rail tank cars. Please see the pix for more details. We pressure tested the rig on a 95psi shop air system and both gauges worked fine and no leaks were noticed in the test rig. Up for auction at no reserve is a Vintage 5" USG Test Pressure Gauge that measures up to 5000 PSI. It is also marked with"20 subd. There is also a stamped date on this one that says"JUL. 75. unlike the others I have. This item would look great with any steampunk designs or projects. The item is used. But I have no way of testing it. There are no big dents, scratches, etc. The face looks like it is in great shape with little to no scratches on the face. I believe it is made of brass.
