Brass Walker Cherub Ship Log with W. Ludolph Instrumentation. I do not know that much about this item. Looks like the original wooden box. The lid needs a litlle help. I did clean this item up just a litlle bit. The other piece I would point out is that one of the fins. The rope need to be re-attached or replaced. It has a W. Ludolph instrument with it. As I understand it this is a good quality instrument. I beleive this is used for distance and speed. I can not attest to accuracy however no way to test it. Please have a look at the pictures. Nice Bruel& Kjaer Instrumentation recorder S/N# 903801 with 1 each type ZG0199 power supply. 3 each FM(amplifier) units types ZM0053, 1 each Direct(amplifier) unit type ZE 0299, and 1 each two channel compander unit type ZM0054. This unit records on ¼” wide magnetic tape usually contained on standard 7” diameter reels. I believe the instrumentation amplifiers allow for a bandwidth of DC to greater than 60KHz. The tape transport has 2 selectable speeds of 38.1 and 381 mm/ second. The unit is beautifully constructed with equivalent or better construction than the more common Nagra recorders. These instrumentation tape recorders were most commonly used in industrial, scientific, and aerospace instrumentation applications, most often for voltage recordings in ... morethe very low frequency(subsonic) to ultrasonic frequency ranges, although they are capable of audio recording. My description is a“best effort” since I am not real familiar with this type of equipment, please bid accordingly. This unit powers up. The tape transport appears to work properly in all modes, It goes into record mode, and the meter shows the program material’s level(I am using an audio source) with inputs to all of the amplifiers, and the monitor speaker works. When I put the unit in PLAYBACK mode, I HEAR NOTHING, therefore, I believe the unit NEEDS REPAIRS so I am selling it for parts or repairs. The unit is in good– very good overall physical condition. The INCLUDED accessories are: 1 each 7” reel of tape, 1 each 7” tape take up reel, and carrying strap for the machine. The overall size of the machine is approximately 17” wide X 10-3/4” deep X 4” high, and it weighs about 20 Lbs. These are the UNPACKAGED weigh and dimensions.
