The box& gauge are so marked as per the photos. It is a QUALITY GAUGE with a BEVELLED GLASS& BLUED HANDS. I read that these gauges were made for LLOYD'S of LONDON to test STEAM BOLIERS of SHIPS prior to insuring them. The Titanic had a working pressure of 215 psi& was tested to 430 psi, a Steam Loco of the period a wp of 200-250 psi so this was used to test something large. This one comes in a LEATHER CASE& is LOCKABLE too. The brass case is stamped 276339& there are the remnants of a paper label under the case which suggest an OFFICIAL use. The case is very crazed& the key& one strap are missing. Comes with the ORIGINAL ... morealbeit RUSTY SPANNER. PLEASE note that I am not an expert on this type of thing. P/N 7345 and measures low voltage DC volts. The meter's range is 0 to.5 volts. This meter has a bakelite case and I believe it dates to the 1940's, possibly earlier. It is 6" high to the top of the terminals X 5" wide X 3 1/2" deep. It has a still useable leather carry strap and feet on both the bottom and back.
