You are bidding on one Pre War American Flyer 3/16 O gauge complete running chugger unit. These were to the best of my knowledge the first sound unit's to be installed in Flyer tenders. They could be found in different steam engine tender's most often found in N.Y.C. Hudson's and Union Pacific's 4-8-4's. They are often found in crumbled condition, this example is complete, very clean and solid. It has been bench tested and is in running order, like any vintage electric motor it should be cleaned and oiled for regular use. The pictured coin is to help with size perception. The roofs of the two Illini cars are a slightly lighter shade of green. Also someone has written the car numbers on the sides of the 3001 cars. The car appears complete and the operating baggage hook does work. The link couplers are complete and unbroken. There is some surface rust on the wheel sets and on the bottom of the car. The Ives Railway Lines toy train car. Lithographed tin from prewar times. Four wheel Number 51 Chair Car, in orange color. Good original paint on the roof, paint on frame has some corrosion, original paint otherwise is fair to poor with some corrosion and wear, but straight car with no dents- see photos for condition. 5 inches inlength.
