If you found this auction you probably know what this does but let me give my personal experience, only selling as we moved an no longer have the same needs for transmitting HDMI audio/video: The reason I purchased this originally was for two purposes. 1) to be able to plug behind my fireplace mounted TV so there are no wires coming anywhere(we did have a conduit channel running from behind the tv to the floor but we didn't even want components on the floor area. 2) to be able to share one Directv box/dvr with our bedroom TV& the living ... moreroom. The results were 100% satisfaction. The living room was on the first floor and the bedroom was on the second floor on the other side of the house so the transmission was going approximately 40-55 feet going through about 3 walls and a floor. It took a few minutes and some tweaking to get them synced perfectly with no video issues but once it was achieved we had little problems for about 2 years. We mainly watched TV in the living room where the receiving unit was so we would have found an alternative solution had this not fully met our needs but it worked perfectly. We ran component cables from the DVR Directv box to the bedroom tv(32" 720P tv) and the HDMI out from the DVR Directv box to the transmitter, our living room TV was a 42" Samsung 1080P LED LCD 3D TV and the result was full HDTV with no problems, we used 2 rf(radio frequency) remotes so that we could control the dvr from upstairs or downstairs. The units need to be relatively pointed at each other but in reality I had the bedroom transmitter pointed directly at the receiver but the receiving unit mounted sideways on the tv wall mount so it was not directly facing the transmitter.
