It measures 12" tall and I found it underground on a mine steam engine hoist. It measured the incoming water temperature on a water holding tank and is in excellent working condition. The insertion tube on the back will unscrew if you want to hang this gauge on the wall. The front glass and the mercury tube is in excellent conditin and the frame has a beautiful dark brass patina. A big beautiful 12 in. diameter Lonergan brass and cast iron guage. The bruiser weighs a hefty 11 pounds as shown. An antique gauge from possibly a steam locomotive. Steam generating plant or other industrial application. A great display piece. The guage has a solid brass threaded bezel. Original glass, cast iron casement, silvered face dial and perfect indicator hand. It is marked"Lonergan Phila" on the face. The guage measures"D`s" whatever they might be. There is a threaded infeed connector at the bottom of the case that appears to be 1/2 inch. The glass cover was removed and cleaned inside and out. There are several edge flake type chips on the edge of the glass that do not show unless the bezel is removed. Some paint loss on the cast iron. But minimal. There are several very small rough spots on the rim of the bezel ... morethat could be polished out if desired. There is also one small dip in the rim that could also be removed, but is barely noticeable as it is now. The glass can be removed and packaged separately if the buyer desires and is comfortable with reassembling the guage. Up for auction is a brass air pessure gauge listed for fire protection. It came from the sprinkler room of an old glass factory. It says 3 inch but i think it might be considered a 4 inch. The actual measurement is 3 ad 3/4 inches. I believe it is from the grinnel company because many of the other brass gauges i got came from the same system and they actually say grinnel. Up for your consideration is this Vintage Brass Steam Pressure Gauge. The bottom half is metal and the top have is brass. It was made by Curtis& Co. Mfg. Co. out of St. Louis. Mo. and is stamped Model 2. The Brass ring has a small split on it. I do not know much about it other than I was told it was a steam pressure gauge and may have come from a locomotive engine. it measures 6" across on the front and 6 1/4" on the back. The bridges have lots scratches and missing paint and both seem nice on one side and the other side on both has rust on the walkway portion of the bridge.
