It needs a good cleaning and should be tested before using. The gauge dial reads 0 to 3.000 P.S.I. I'm not sure of the metal. But the outer case appears to be brass. Vintage Ashcroft 1850- Pressure Gauge- 0-100- Has the older version of the Ashcroft Logo. I am not a handy or mechanical type person so I hope that I am calling this by the correct name. There is a number on the bottom that says: AMP 7442. Cosmetically. The gauge looks like it is in good condition. I did not test the gauge. I would not know how to test it. This gauge came from an estate sale auction so I do not know the history. It is about 2 5/8" across x 3 1/2" long x 7/8" wide.

Large 12" Antique Steam Pressure Gauge Brass Collectible Ashcroft Bridgeport CT
For sale is a fantastic antique brass/cast iron and glass pressure gauge. It is a full 12" across by 2 7/8" deep and measures 30 pounds vacuum to 30 pounds of pressure. Made by The Ashcroft Manufacturing Co. Bridgeport, Conn. around the turn of the 19th century. Recently out of a closed company in Bridgeport, CT that had been there for many years. Now it can become a great eye-catching display piece. I did not polish the brass so its up to you to keep it with the patina or polish it. If you also want the cast iron base looking new it would need to be painted as there is rust showing. Since there are two types of collectors-one who wants the item to look original showing its age and the other who wants it to look new I am not going to polish the brass or paint the base.
