Vintage Ashcroft Altitude Pressure Gauge good lens! Free shipping!
Hi! Nice vintage Ashcroft gauge. To be honest. I'm not sure why they label this an"altitude" gauge as it clearly appears to be a pressure gauge although it's not marked in"PSI" or anything like that. The lens is great, a bit dirty but no cracks although I have not removed it from the gauge to inspect. Overall it clearly shows use but everything appears to be superficial although I'm not sure how well it will clean up. The needle does move when you blow into the port which is 1/4" NPT male pipe thread. There is one of the tiny thumb screws missing but the other two unscrew. The springs for the dial face are there(two on the bottom, one on top) No dents on the ring or the case that I can detect. Overall diameter is 5.5" and it's about 1.75" thick. This is a great piece and looks much better than the pictures show. If you like steampunk or industrial your going to love this. This is the biggest gauge that I have ever seen. It measures 12 inches in diameter and is about 2 3/4" thick. It has 3 holes in the back and it can be mounted to the wall. The ring on the front looks like it might be nickle plated copper or red brass. This gauge was used to measure either vacuum or pressure and registers from 0 to 30 in either direction. This was made by Ashcroft American in Bridgeport Connecticut.

The gauge has a brass front and measures 14 3/8" across the front and 15" across the back(not including the fitting on the bottom and weighs a bit over 21 pounds. The face of the gauge reads from 1 to 100 in increments of 10. Antique Brass Ashcroft Steam Pressure Gauge 0- 200. It was made by the Swift Lubricator Co. of Elmira. N.Y. The face is marked 9-22-37 with initials as shown. It has a 6" outside diameter brass face with a cast iron back and a brass threaded fitting on the bottom. It has overall nice patina and a few light dents to the brass face ring as shown.

This is a vintage Ashcroft Mfg. Vacuum Gauge. it has a beautiful housing with 1 noticeable ding on the mounting plate at the top. The face is as good as it was the day it was made. the glass is a little loose. It has the nice crescent needle, and brushed nickel face. it states Ashcroft Mfg. Co. New York and Bridgeport. registered Aug 21st 1878 Vacuum#174 and the Ashcroft logo/ mark. it is 4 3/8" X 1.750" dimensions. This is one fine specimen.

Vintage Large Brass PRESSURE GAUGE. BRONZE TUBE DURAGAUGE by ASHCROFT U.S.A. circa 1890. A really very nice pressure gauge, by the above maker with the following details to its brass face: 1850 ASHCROFT U.S.A. PATENT DATES INSIDE. BRONZE TUBE DURAGAUGE. 1 LB. SUBD. AMP 7320. this company was established in the USA in circa 1850. It has a black steel arrow pointer with a fancy point. Which is set to zero(0) the face of the dial is numbered from 0 to 100 around the edge, with the trade mark of'ASHCROFT U.S.A. in a shield logo to the base of the dial(see photos) Brass outer rim& a heavy brass casing including the back plate, which has three mounting holes(see photos) A brass pressure pipe attachment to the bottom, the rear of the gauge has 3 brass screws. Size is 6.5" diameter face x 7.75" diameter across the back x 2.25" ... moredeep. Weight is 2.4 kilos unpacked(hence the high postage costs due to it been pretty heavy sorry) overall the gauge is in VGC+ for its age. Not sure if it is still operational, or if it is from shipping or steam trains etc. but would make a great decorative display piece.
