Smardo Militaria and Collectibles Pictured is a vintage brass 5000 PSI pressure gauge. Made by"ASHCROFT" of Bridgeport. Connecticut. Believe it's off a US Navy ship because it has original Navy gray paint, most likely WWII. Cork seal for glass shrunk and came loose, glass isn't loose though. Needs to be cleaned. Just found this at an estate auction. An Old Ashcroft Pressure Gauge Kit. The previous owner had Several Hit-N-Miss engines. It appears to be in Excellent Condition and complete. It also has the Ashcroft Hand Jack for removing Gauge and clock hands. The gauge measures about 3" in Diameter. The fitted case shows shelf wear and measures about 12 1/2" X 10-1/2" X 4" thick. Up for auction is an Ashcroft 304 stainless panel mount pressure gauge. Model 45-1009A-02B-60 PSIG range. Features U bracket, bronze tube and brass socket, and is the non filled variety. Dial face diameter is 4-½” nominally, has a ¼" male NPT lower back connection and has the safety blow out plug in the back. Face resolution is in 1 lb. increments. With an ASME B 40.100 Grade A(1% of span) no box. Pointer zero is well within the zero box, window is actual glass, not acrylic. This gauge saw only brief use, the front bezel has some shelf scuffs& wear and some associated dirt on the back. An excellent gauge choice for corrosive environments, photos are actual, glass is clean and clear. You are bidding on an Ashcroft American Battey Machinery Co. pressure gauge. Battey Machinery was once located in Rome. GA. This gauge is in good used condition. The dial bezel measures 5 inches in diameter and the glass is not cracked. The face of the dial reads Battey Machinery Co. Rome, GA and the contains the Ashcroft American logo. The bezel is removable for cleaning if you desire. The gauge is a little rusty but it has a wonderful patina. Up for bids is an old Ashcroft pressure gauge. The face measures 4" diameter and the mounting plate of the base is a little larger at 4 3/4" Its an older style gauge and not sure what it came off of maybe an old steam engine or something like that. Its totally untested and just a neat old decoration. The outer covering of the gauge pulls off its not threaded on and there is a plate of glass under that and the dial is under that. There is a spring inside that must control the gauge. I just barely moved the needle and it went back to zero again. Nice old piece sold as is where is please.
