This is for an old ammonia gauge that is in very nice condition. I took the photos with a flash to try to show any flaws. This says. Ammonia 1850 Ashcroft USA Patent Dates Inside, Welded Steel Tube Duragauge Nylon under the glass. There are patent numbers on the backside. This is in very nice condition with one tiny little chip on the black that goes around the front, please see photo#3. I think this can be seen. This is 7" long, 2 1/4" deep, 5 3/4" across the back and 5" across the front of the dial. I know nothing about this sort of thing but the old man who owns this says it works. It looks to be in good enough condition to work. This is heavy and will be packed well in a good box with lots of packing.

Okay all you Steampunk people out there. Here's your one shot at owning one of the baddest old pressure gauges out there. This was installed in 1946 on a new 820.000#hr Combustion Engineering(C-E) multi-drum natural circulation boiler that ran at 875 PSI. It was replaced by a tiny digital LED in the 80's. The gauge is 24" in diameter. 11" deep and weighs 60 pounds. The gauge is lighted by four 15 watt light bulbs. The bourdoun tubes have been cut out and a 1 RPM chart drive motor installed to run the needle up and back. It moves up from about 800# to about 960# pauses and drops back down. On the upsweep it passes the same point every 60 seconds. There is an off/on switch on the bottom of the gauge. Common shop air compressor shut-off pressure values typically hover from about 120 pounds per square inch up to about 160 PSI. When running air tools. It is pleasing to be able to glance toward your air supply connection to see how your compressor's pressure is keeping up your shop's demands. A common 2-inch gauge is just fine for up-close viewing. Typically applied to the compressor. But trying to read that 2-inch gauge from across the shop where you may be working is just an exercise in frustration. So here's a classy solution. This 6-inch base American Ashcroft pressure gauge has a large. Highly visible black pointer in front of a very clearly laid-out white background with large 0 to 150 PSI font face plate covered by a GLASS(not plastic) window and wide decorative brass surround ring. Even a quick glance from 20 feet is enough ... moreto inform you of how your pressure is holding up so you can guide your actions accordingly. The sweep dial's markings correspond to ~ 45-degrees = 50 psi. The bottom section of the sweep dial does not bear psi markings. But if someone wants to drive this with another 50 psi. That 200 psi just rotates the pointer all the way around to the 0-stop post without causing any gauge damage. You are bidding on a vintage ASHCROFT PRESSURE TEST GAUGE. Gauge is in very nice condition. It appears to be made of brass with a nickle finish. There is some slight ware on the outside rim, but nothing major. Scale on face of gauge reads 0 to 60 pounds. There is a threaded fitting at the bottom of the gauge. Gauge measures 9 3/4 inches in diameter, and weighs 10 pounds. Neither I nor the former owner have any idea of what it was from, or it's age. This is neat old ASHCROFT gauge. I do not know what kind of gauge. Train Engine RR? The gauge is marked ASHCROFT MF’G CO. NEW YORK& BRIDGEPORT. The insignia is E.H. ASHCROFT BOSTON MASS. SOLID DRAWN TUBE WARRANTED REGISTERED AUG 21 1876. It is untested. The gauge reads 0-200. The top is brass and is 9 5/8" in diameter. The Bottom is cast iron. The bottom and is 10 1/8" in diameter.
