For today’s auction. We are featuring a vintage air pressure(or possibly steam) gauge that was manufactured by the Ashcroft Manufacturing Company out of New York. Edward H. Ashcroft of Lynn. Massachusetts bought the American rights to a French pressure guage design and founded the Ashcroft Manufacturing Company in 1852 to make pressure gauges for steam engines. The firm had offices at 87 liberty St. New York City. And also in Bridgeport. CT. Their internal- and external-spring Tabor indicators. Pressure gauges(water, pressure, atmosphere etc) counters, alarms, indicators, and pipe fitter and machinists tools for steam engines were manufactured from about 1852 to the WWI period, when the company was sold in 1912. Some of their products are still being manufactured today as the best in the field by the surviving company, Dresser Industries. ... moreOne might argue that it was people like Ashcroft who facilitated expansion of the railroads and the country's industrial might. Without a reliable means of measuring and controlling steam pressure. Locomotives, steamships, and even the humble heating boiler would never have flourished as they did. Ashcroft, though, didn't have just one feather in his cap. A few years after launching the pressure gauge, he collaborated with George W. Richardson in New York to develop a spring-loaded safety valve that still exists today as the Consolidated Safety Valve. This heavy duty gauge is numbered#83397 and will record readings up to 160(PSI we presume) This gauge appears to be made of heavy brass. As far as we can tell. This sealed gauge is still fully functional. This vintage Ashcroft gauge measures approximately 6” in diameter in regards to the viewable gauge portion. The black painted base measures approximately 6.75” in diameter. The approximate width is noted to be 2– 1/8” Please note that this vintage gauge is previously used but is still in very nice condition. We do note the presence of some fine. The gauge measures 3 5/8”across and 1 ¼” deep. 1/4" NPT. US Gauge Dial No. 15286. UL FM Approved. Good old item in good condition. Lens intact. Please note there is a small factory flaw in the metal glass retainer. There are small wrench marks on wrenching surface. This was removed from a sprinkler system recently.

This is a vintage Pi Meter- Proportional- Integral Controller. It measures and controls low level pressure such as fuel or gas flow. There are two hose connections at the top and a heavy mounting nut. Other parts in the box are unknown. This gage was manufactured by Lehmann& Michels Corp. in Hamburg West Germany. It was distributed by Korfund Dynamics Corp. Westbury. NY. Lehmann& Michels are mfg. of diesel and gas engine monitoring& performance analysis systems for the marine industry. This Pi meter system appears to be around WWII vintage but the date is unknown. The weight is about 8 lb. This Gage has not been tested.

Rare Vintage Bailey Meters Pressure Gauge Large U.S. Gauge 19052 Steampunk!
Included in this listing is a rare vintage Bailey Meters pressure gauge. This is a large pressure gauge measuring just over 10" across. This is a working gauge in fantastic shape and measures 0-300 on the dial. The glass face is in really nice shape for its age and is really clean with no cracks. The red coloring on the Bailey Meters logo is bright and easy to read. The white dial looks super clean as well. It does have a few small specs of white paint on the bezel. This has a 1/4 inch NPT fitting and has been tested up to 125psi here at my house on my air-compressor. Here I have an unknown oil pressure dash gauge C700-120-03. It is in decent looking condition with just some black paint wear around the edge. It could use a cleaning on the inside of the glass but I didn't want to screw it up by attempting to open it.
