Orvis Battenkill Bar Stock II fly ... morereel in the titanium finish. The BBS II is a 2.75 in. diameter, standard arbor reel, weighing in at 3 5/8 oz. It is machined for aircraft grade, bar-stock aluminum, with an offset-gear Rulon disc drag. Orvis puts the recommended line sizes for the reel in the 3 to 5 wt. range. The listed capacity is 100 yds. of 20 lb. dacron with a WF3F line, and 75 yds. with a WF4F. The reel is in very nice shape. There are finish rubs on the reel foot from being on a rod. The frame and spool have no scratches. Except for a"4" the previous owner etched onto the interior side of the spool. The reel has some backing and a WF-4-F fly line, which, from the partial sticker and sunrise color, I believe to be a Scientific Anglers Ultra 4 line. It's an older model line, but still looks decent to me. The reel is set up for left hand retrieve, and is reversible to right hand wind. With the reel comes a zippered Orvis pouch in excellent shape. This Orvis Battenkill Fly Reel is circa 1969-1970 and was made by J.W. Young of England. The model is the very scarce"Flyweight" and it measures 2 3/4" in diam. with a 5/8" spool openning. Spool is polished aluminum and reel can be used either left or right hand wind. This reel looks to be unused and paint is over 99% The hub has a tiny nick the sizes of a pinhead. It is very hard to find these reels in such wonderful condition. Specially the smaller sizes. Here is an opportunity to own a little classic reel to fish or put in your collection. This fly reel is marked made in ENGLAND The reel has ben lightly used but remains in very. Very nice condition. There is just a hint of paint wear from previous use as seen in the photos. The reel is set up for LEFT HANDED RETREIVE-it can be switched back if you choose. The fly lines and backing on the reel appear to be in good condition. The fly line on the spare spool is marked WF-4-F scientific angler mastery. The fly line on the spool on the reel is an RIO Selective trout DT3F. Both the spare spool and the spool on the reel NEED A NEW FLY LEADER before use. The padded Orvis fly reel case is in great shape and the spare spool is in a cloth case in fine condition. From my information this is a vintage Hardy made(England) CFO III fly reel. It would be great to use on a small bamboo or graphite fly rod of your choice The reel is marked made in England I am not sure of the exact manufacture date. The reel is set up for LEFT HANDED RETRIEVE but can be also set up for right handed retrieve easily. The reel remains in very very good condition. There is light paint wear around the rim but very minor. The spare spool was probably used but it sure looks any use would have been very limited. There is no fly line on the spare spool-only backing. Up for sale is an amazing Green River Bamboo Fly Rod& Orvis CFO II Reel. The Rod is an 8ft 2pc with 2 tips. 4wt. Rod is in like new condition. Normal wear on cork. Reel is also in like new condition and comes with cortland sylk fly line 4wt. This package is an awesome dry fly set up. The only reason i am selling this package is to purchase a upland shotgun. Everything in the pictures is included tube. Sleeve, rod and reel with case. The rod alone retailed in the $1400 range new. This is the nicest fly rod ive ever owned.

Orvis Battenkill 5/6 fly reel, disc drag, made in England, w/case
Up for sale is my Orvis Battenkill fly reel. It's the first"good" reel I bought when I got into fly fishing back in the late 1980s. And its served me well. Made in England, the reel is designed for 5/6 lines, and has a very good, easily adjusted disc drag. It has some scratches and dings(see photos) but the reel is in excellent mechanical shape.
