Not only is this a great tool for boiling water, but it is also an excellent fire starting tool in general. The stove has the perfect dimensions and ventilation to ignite dry fuel quickly, and to dry and ignite small amounts of wet fuel as well. The open top design allows you to load and dump fuel quickly when it is not being used to boil water. One thing I do not like about the stove is that the bottle has no holder or handle. And cannot be manipulated outside of the stove until the contents cools or is used up. Beautiful leaf motif repoussé sterling silver capped perfume flask from the Victorian/Edwardian period with a pressed hobnail pattern to the glass. Marked"STERLING" The cork was dried out and damaged. So I replaced it with the appropriate size, it will fully seal and be a functioning piece. Measures 8cm x 1.7cm, the last picture shows the damage to the cap. The vial itself is in great condition with no major scratching or chips, amazing considering it being over 100 years old! Louisiana, about a mile west of the Ouachita River, a trove of artifacts were uncovered by late 19th century farmers on private land. One of the more interesting pieces were a cache of pottery. Of which a"flask-style" pot is listed here-all material was acquired recently from a family associate. The pot has a broken. Uneven rim, though a nice ridge surrounds the upper area. From a small diameter opening it swoops down to a shape reminiscent of early American Chestnut bottles or modern Erlenmeyer chemistry flasks: This pot has a blackish-brown patina that has become mottled/chipped with age. There are cuts. Dings, and abrasions throughout the piece. One of its more ... morecuriously interesting features is on the bottom. Puzzling cross-hatching/ vertical and horizontal lines are incised into the base. The meaning of which is unknown. Intriguingly. The original finds were not far from a place known as Watson Brake, an archeological site dating to about 5,400 years ago-the earliest mound complex in America. This auction ends the evening of Wednesday Feb 27th Up for auction is a Fine and Rare Chinese Apple Green Crackle Glazed Figural Vase. The Vase is a very interesting example. And I have not seen another one like this. Unusually with such monochrome glazed examples they are very plain in form and design, unlike this piece. I was actually told the Vase is an earlier Chinese Kangxi period piece, but to be safe I am selling it as 19th century. I am sure it is in fact is from the Kangxi reign is would be a very desirable find, and worth a very substantial amount, so it is well worth looking into. The Vase has a beautiful and consistent apple green crackle glaze throughout, along with a white gu-type crackle glaze to the interior and base. The Vase also has figural boy scenes to either side within pomegranate panels, and great elephant side handles with black enamel eyes. The Vase shows some light wear and scratched throughout the glaze, but overall the vase is in fine original condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Antique Silver Floral Repousse Flask, collapsing cup lid Derby Silver co. 1800's
Antique Derby Silver Co. flask dating to the 1800s. Heavy repousse pattern of flowers and stars with a fan like detail on the collar and base. Great workmanship in this piece as it is well made and heavy. The lid screws off and expands into a small cup for drinking. Lid is monogrammed with what looks like"EJ" or"FJ" There is quite a bit of plate loss that doesn't show in all the pictures. The top where the monogram is has spots of loss and one side has more plate loss than the other. Picture 1 is one side and Picture 2 is the other side although you can't really tell the difference. The bottom is curved and the flask does not stand up on it's own but is meant to lie flat. I have seen other pieces like this but not one in this good condition with the lid intact and working. This is a used and somewhat damaged piece of WWII history.It is an Edwardian silver plate liquor flask. Measuring approx. 6" long x 3-7/8" wide x 1-1/4" thick. This piece is marked Wm. Hutton& Sons, Improved Metal and is numbered. It was made in Sheffield, England and holds and is is marked 11 Ozs. This flask has an engraved/etched line pattern, with a space for a monogram in the upper left corner of the front. This flask was carried by my Dad in WWII and that is where the damage ocurred. There is a significant indentation on the front, a few small dents in the corners and a small approximately 1/4" long, deeper than surface' scratch on the back. If you ever get ship wrecked on a deserted island. You can use this hammered metal boot flask to signal overhead airplanes.or satellites! OK, maybe a slight hyperbole, but this flask will almost blind you when it reflects light. I have put it under"silver plated" because others that have had similar listings have made this claim, but I think it might be chrome. It is in need of cleaning, and I will do so before it ships. From my research I have found out that the flask that was made in West German during the WWII era, and is shaped to fit in a soldier's boot. The curve fits the calf. The top of the flask unscrews to offer a shot glass. Beneath the shot glass cap is another threaded cap that has a cork inside, to keep the flask from leaking. Vintage decorative copper flask
Up for auction is a vintage decorative copper flask which has a hammered pattern around its middle. It measures 13cm in height from top of lid to bottom edge and 10cm at its widest point and is surprisingly heavy for its size- 220 g Although it has a small dent in the removable lid and one or two small dents to the side where it has been hammered(please see one in photo) It is in good condition for its age but would benefit from a good c lean which I will leave to the buyer.
