It also has a drawer with a lift out tray. Ten bottles; 6 of these have rough. Unpolished pontils. Most of the bottles have chips to the rim and or stoppers. 1905 Antique Northwood Opalescent Goofus Glass Greek Key and Scales Ruffle Bowl
I can not begin to express how beautiful this antique Northwood opalescent goofus treatment bowl is to the eye. The name of the pattern is"Greek Key and Scale" and what a correct name that is. Honestly you do not see the Greek Key design. For your eyes are drawn to the beauty of the center scales, that look like the scales on a salmon fish. Just a beautiful blending of reds and orange tones, like the leaves of a maple tree in autumn. Northwood Glass Company produced this pattern in 1905. The bowl is signed in the middle with the Northwood logo"N" This bowl is actually opalescent glass and sits on a raised foot. The color of the design comes from a goofus treatment. Where red was painted on the underneath of the bowl. Sealing in the color is a coating of gold paint, which gives a richness to the color. The goofus treatment ... moreextends into the opalescent glass, giving a color glow that appears deep within the opalescent glass. The bowl measures 4 inches tall by 9 inches in diameter. Structurally the bowl is in perfect condition. With no chips or cracks. As will all goofus glass, there is some paint loss but the amount is minor and does little to effect the visual beauty of the piece. I was never a real fan of goofus glass. A West German glass piece, etched intaglio, of the Zodiac, LIBRA, in a georgeous rose color glass piece. This cabachon is over 50 years old. The size is a 14mm by 10mm oblong glass cabachon. It is in great condition, a very clear Libra emblem done in gold relief etching and all hand painted. This terrific rose pink glass piece is in wonderful vintage condition. It features a flat table top surface. Faceted sides and a pointed back, cut much like a gem stone. It comes complete with a hanging hook ready to put on your favorite chain to wear! VERY RARE. These"cabs" or cabachons contain intaglio images or scenes. Each piece was hand painted into a reverse carved image. These amazing pieces of art were first manufactured during the Victorian era. CUT CRYSTAL GLASS & WROUGHT IRON BALANCE SCALES
Old Antique Glass and Wrought Iron with Marble Base. It isn't perfect but then I have showed you the defects in the pictures. One of the chains on the hanging glass dishes was missing one of the chains so someone put string in place so it was balanced. Then the hanging crystal tear drops are not all there. There is suppose to be 8 but I have only 5 plus one round glass top but not the bottom tear drop. Other than them defects the rest is actually in good condition for the age. I didn't find any markings such as company names as I showed in the bottom base picture. This was found in the basement after my husband passed away of things I was going through. This is a very unusual. Antique planimeter. Planimeters are used to measure the area of a closed region, for example, the area under a plotted curve. Thus, they are useful in surveying, for example. However, this Lippincott planimeter was made by the James L. Robertson& Sons company. In New York, in or after 1896(the patent date) to be used with a steam engine indicator to evaluate the engine's performance. Steam engine indicators draw a curve that shows how the engine is operating. Plotting displacement vs. cylinder pressure. Measuring the area of the curve allows calculation of the horsepower produced by the engine. Later planimeter designs register the measurement on a calibrated circular dial. Often with another geared wheel that counts revolutions of the first. However, this instrument uses a different principle, indicating the ... morearea on a linear paper scale, enclosed in a sealed glass tube. Each tube has two scales, and this instrument comes with two of the tubes. The case has space for a third tube, but I don't know whether the set normally came with two or three of the scale tubes. The instrument body is about 8" long and 3/8" wide. In use, it sits on the surface that you are measuring, normally a piece of paper. The black wheel rides along the glass tube as you trace the curve you are measuring, and you read off the result on the scale against the wheel's edge. Instrument is in excellent condition. All metal surfaces are shiny. Though there are some small signs of wear. All moving parts operate well and properly. The two glass scales are in excellent condition, clean and unmarred, though the paper inside is slightly yellowed. The thin leather that covered the box is in poor condition, and is missing in many places. The box itself, hinges, and clasp are all in good condition.

Westmoreland Carnival Glass SCALES pattern matching 2 piece set 4 3/4" Bowl and 6 1/4" Plate/ Under plate R A R E SET TO FIND! Especially in the small matching sizes! Considered scarce to rare to find the SMALL size bowl. But to find BOTH as a SET is close to winning a lotto.and to a die hard collector it is about the same when searching out this amazing little set! The set is in over all good condition no apparent damage. Cracks, chips or even straw marks to be found. Slight rubbing on the bottom inside scales of the bowl but I honestly think it adds a bit of character to the little guy and the plate is in immaculate condition with no signs of wear to be found on the iridescence. On the bottom underside there is what appears to be a bit of what appears to be rubbing to the smooth glass surface and one itsy bitsy flea nibble as ... moreI can't get a photos of it as it is too small to photograph but you can"nail feel" it on the ground base but thats the end of any"damage" I like to disclose absolutely everything possible so as no surprises once you receive this amazing and extremely hard to find set. The bowl~ 4 3/4" across x 2 1/4" high Amethyst base with beautiful iridescence. The iridescence does show signs of wear around the inner sides of the bowl but is not badly missing. The bottom center does not have the iridescence and appears to have been made this way as there are no remains in the creases of the scales in the direct center. The outside is not iridized. But shows the deep amethyst glass color giving a good display against the accompanying plate. No damage other than a tiny tiny flea nip on the bowl edge that literally has to be looked for and is easier felt than seen. The bottom is a ground base, sits even with no ~~~wiggle or wobble ~~~ The plate~ 6 1/4" across and 5/8" high Amethyst base with very nice even iridescence. Here is a gorgeous piece of vintage Carnival Glass made by Dugan- love the design. The pattern and the color. A beautiful Marigold in color with a ruffled edge- please see pics- really nice- catches color very well. The dish has a raised fish scale design in the glass on interior and a beaded design that goes around just down from top on exterior- really, really nice- is called Fish Scales and Beads. Measures 6 3/8 inches across from side to side and is 2 1/4 inches tall at tallest point. In great condition- no damage- has a couple marks in glass that were part of the making. From arm to arm at top is 12" As I have the scales in picture the scale hangs approx. 10-1/2" from arm. You can adjust these any way you want to and the top arm locks or unlocks. The scales are approx. 5" across and a depth of approx. 3/4" The base is 4-1/2" X 4-1/2" and is approx. 3/4" in height. The amber glass has a diamond shape near the middle. There are no chips or cracks in the glass. There are signs of age/use/wear. The marble base has a few chips where the edges are and another a little in more.
