Very nice. Well-built vintage Stenograph machine by the Hedman Company in Chicago. This comes with the original case. Machine has an art deco design and is black with silver. It's made out of metal and the keys are some type of plastic, maybe Bakelite. Original ribbon and paper still inside. Has the little drawer for the paper in back. The keys stay down when you press them, so this would need a light servicing if you intend to use it. Clasp has rust, but works fine. Handle has some wear. Sturdy case has a green felt lining and measures 10 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 8 1/2" not including 4 metal feet and handle. Clean. A great piece to use, or display! It has a battery that was put in in 1991. It has not been used for about 20 years and has been in storage in the case. Vintage Court Reporting Machine Baron Data Transcriptor x With hard sided Case
For sale is a Baron data transcriptor x. The unit is in very clean condition and has been kept in a samsonite hard sided case made for the unit;the combination on the case works. I tested the unit using the power cord included which although not the original seems to be a great match for the unit. I left the unit plugged in all night and all was well with that test. The unit powers up and all the letter keys respond and the paper moves correctly. I cannot speak from experience because I have never used an item like this; but from what I can tell all works ok. It will probably need a new ribbon as the picture shows the letter impressions are present yet not to dark. It is possible that could improve with use.Any questions feel free to ask.

Old Stenograph Court Reporting Machine probably from the 50s or 60s. Dusty. Works. But the paper doesn't advance as it should. Cleaning may fix this, and I've included the Cleaning and Oiling kit. Also included is a very, very sturdy, heavy tripod with case. This machine and tripod was made like the old cars from that era. Pretty much all metal. Also included is a bottle of ink.
