This microphone package is about 3 years old. However has only been used for a year and a half. The receiver or tuner(part that attaches to the camera) is perfect and works wonderfully. The wireless mic or transmitter(part that you wear on your person) is missing the anteanna and still works for stationary applications but if you are wearing the device and ANYTHING brushes against the anteanna port static will be heard through the camera. This would be a great option if your in need of a Tuner or receiver and not so much the transmitter. Checked BH Photo today and a new Tuner alone is $350.00 and used ones on BH Photo are selling for $299.00. I sent a camera to Teaneck New Jersey a few years back to the Sony Corp. to get fixed and there service was fast. Not sure of the price to fix this but may be worth a call for the transmitter. Perfect working condition. Great tone. One small ding on front grill portion, does not affect play or grip in any way. Beautiful Rosewood hand made mic. turned from a single block of wood, with optional volume control. Has excellent feedback resistance. Y ou can plug a 1/4 inch cable right into this mic. it doesn't need a special cord. Any guitar cord will work. This is the early model with the great toned ceramic element. The great tone of a crystal with out being so fragile. It won't die if you drop it like a crystal mic would. Also won't get weak in humid conditions like crystals can. Ceramic elements were favorites of William Clark, and Gary Primich. I have the same mic in Maple Burl, and just can't afford to keep this one now. Need the $$ more than a second back up mic.
