Gold Elgin S Haller Mantle Clock with Dome FOR REPAIR
Elgin S. Holler brand Domed Mantle Clock This clock does not seem to be working properly. When I manually spin the golden balls on the bottom to get the clock started. They rotate back and forth for less than a minute before coming to a halt. While they are moving the minute hand begins to rotate around. I am listing the clock for PARTS OR REPAIR. Its possible that the clock will begin working properly with some oil and a good dusting, but I cannot offer any guarantees. The gold colored metal around the base has become tarnished. There are other areas of tarnish on the face of the clock and on other portions. There are spots with corrosion. I have included a few close up pictures for your consideration. This was purchased from an auto electric repair shop that had been in business since 1932. Clock is from the 1970's. Measures about 12.5 across including the domed glass front. These are hard to find as most are still on walls in shops or broken. Not many made, as they were not for sale to the public but something that shop owners ordered through supply companies. The metal side is dark green hammer tone paint. Overall great vintage condition that could use a bit of cleaning. It has been hanging on the wall for around 40 years. Keeps prefect time.
