VINTAGE SALEM ENGLAND BANJO BAROMETER,THERMOMETER, HUMIDITY, MIRROR-WALNUT?
This vintage Salem England banjo weather station seems to work fine. The thermometer has Salem. Made In England and the barometer is also marked Salem as is the relative humidity gauge. The back of the barometer, which has various screws for adjustment, is marked Germany. There is a mirror located between the thermometer and the barometer and I'm not sure if it's original to the piece or not. It has a brass hanger on the back which is loose. The wood looks like it could be walnut but I can't say for sure and I could be wrong. There is a small dent on the top of the brass ring on the humidity gauge. There is a small sliver of wood missing on the molding on the right hand side of the finial. Not readily noticeable, but it's there. It's 29-1/4" long. Green & Black Granite Desk or Table Top Thermometer & Humidity With Metal Stand
This is a unique green& black granite thermometer& hygrometer(humidity) gauge set with metal removable stand. The thermometer& humidity gauges are in very good condition& they look to be be working well. They can be removed from the granite if need be for some reason. The granite base measures 5" high& 2 1/2" it is almost 3/4" thick. Each gauge has a gold metal rim& measures 1 3/8" across. The gold metal stand screws on the back of the granite and it is removable. I left the tape on the back which held the metal stand so it can be retaped for mailing. The granite has some small scuff marks from storage which are barely visible. I have 2 identical sets available. If someone buys both sets I will combine them and reduce the total shipping fee.

This can was likely found hidden underneath a building or in a wall of a shed. Etc, on one of the US military bases here in Japan, ie Yokosuka or Okinawa. Its clearly not an outside dumper but received a fair amount of protection from the elements somehow. Humidity spotting has clearly taken its toll, though. Side of can reads: Withdrawn Free Of Internal Revenue Tax For Exportation No major dents to speak of. While the cone portion has lots of rust the body has very minimal rust but does suffer from LOTS of humidity spots or humidity rusting. The discoloration from humidity spotting should be visible throughout all the photos. But since it has very very little ... morebody rust or body cancer it is a quite solid can in your hands. The seam is also in relatively good condition but the cone itself is quite rusted over. I've yet to attempt to clean the can and have not yet tried to remove the rust with an acid bath either so it might possibly clean up a little bit.
