Amplifier This listing is for a chart recorder/amplifier manufactured by the Sanborn Co. model numbers 126 and 2127) It was an estate sale find. The recorder and D.C. amp were sold by the Hewlett-Packard Co. of Rochester. NY to the Cornell Aeronautical Laboratory in Buffalo, NY in 1968. The recorder and amplifier are two separate units that fit into a wood case. I purchased this assuming that it would be a non-working steampunk type item. When I plugged it in. I found that the dual unit seems to function. Specifically, the paper advances, the temperature control on the pen works(I believe that the paper is temperature sensitive) and it makes marks on the roll paper(which is nearly a complete roll) There is also a cable that connects ... morethe amplifier to the recorder. I cannot guarantee that this unit works since I have no idea how to connect an input nor do I know what most of the controls do. The equipment comes in a heavy oak case with a 4-latch top. Access doors, etc. and an opening for the paper chart to flow out. The case is in good condition, but the handle grip is in rough shape but still perfectly functional. The case is very solid but has scratches/wear(see photos) A super restoration project which will look great when refinished. The unit comes with the purchase order and another piece of paper that tell a bit about the equipment(see photos) There are also an electrical connector that joins the two units. The overall dimensions of the case are 17" across by 12" deep by 11-1/2" tall. It weighs over 35 lbs. Again. I am selling this as a semi-working unit that most likely needs reconditioning of some sort, so no guarantees. Overall. A rather cool looking piece of equipment.
