This auction is for the Analog Devices power supply and hybrids shown in the photos. The power supply module is a 901 inserted into a 950 manifold. I tested this with a meter and the power supplies read +/ 15 volts as they should. I have not tested any of the hybrids. The auction includes(2) 105A modules. One of which has been soldered previously(see picture) 1) 232J chopper stabilized op amp, 1) 422 module, and(1) 118A module, along with three sockets, two AC1010, and one AC1014, which is unused. The Cat is actually very much like the ARP ... moreOdyssey. So much so that ARP had sued them in the late 1970's for cloning their designs. The Cat is a monophonic/duophonic analog synthesizer with 2 oscillators capable of square and sawtooth waveforms. VCO 1 also has a triangle waveform. Each of the waveforms can be played simultaneously and mixed together and there are additional sub-octave oscillators on each oscillator to blend new and interesting sounds. The original Cats were purely monophonic. But then came the SRM update which added the duophonic(2-voice) capability. The Cat(SRM) has a 2-note sample-and-hold feature for each voice too! The Keyboard can be switched between 2-voice(poly) and 1-voice(mono) modes. In mono mode the 2 oscillators can be stacked for a rich mono-bass or mono-lead synth sound. Poly mode limits the richness of the sound because each VCO becomes a separate dedicated voice. In this mode you can create slightly more complex melodies with overlapping notes or very basic pads. Yamaha CS-15 Voltage Controlled Analog synthesizer
Up for auction is a Yamaha CS-15 voltage controlled analog synthesizer. It is a 2 oscillator monophonic keyboard each with their own signal paths. But with osc 1 also being able to route through osc 2. Each osc has sawtooth, square and sine waves. Plus 3 sets of separate LFOs for each oscillator. Really amazing deep bass sound to classic leads and pads, very old-school Bruce Haack era sound effects. A fair rival to the MiniMoog or the Moog Prodigy during its time. I acquired this item in fair conditon and cleaned the inside. Including the key contacts, etc. It now functions really well with every knob and switch functioning cleanly with no static or cutting out and every key playing consistently EXCEPT for the high G# key, which doesn't sound. The signal input also does not function, but the voltage in/outs do, with rudimentary testing ... morewith some VC Moog gear. Cosmetically. The keyboard is in pretty rough shape. The previous owner has put tape and stickers on the unit. It is also missing three slider caps, two knob caps, has two slider tips bent off, and one potentiometer tip bent off as well. Please refer to the photos for specific details. This synth will need work to restore it to 100% Obviously the item is sold AS IS with no returns. All in all. Looks rough but plays like a dream.
