Trellchem VPS Level A Hazmat Suit XL Trelleborg Rubber Chemical Enclosure
This is a very rare Trellchem VPS Level A hazmat suit. The suit is used and has signs of wear as seen in the photos. It should be cleaned before being used. The hood features 2 exhaust valves that can be reversed so the suit can be inflated or deflated. The suit zipper does have a small problem towards the bottom when it closes. As seen in the photo, this might be easily fixable or it might need cleaning and waxing/ lubing. The zipper closes all the way down but when unzipping you will have to give it some brute force to pull it past the section that needs attention. Hopefully this will be a simple fix. KAPPLER FLASH FIRE/CHEMICAL RESISTANT SUIT. FANTASTIC SHAPE, $2,700 RETAIL! This Kappler Reflector suit has a broad range of resistance from flash fires to caustic chemicals and even corrosive gases. It passes the entire ASTM F1001 battery of tests with no breakdown in suit integrity. Even after eight hours. This is a front entry, single-skin suit(Kappler model 46450) We've closely inspected this, there's no rips, tears or holes. All the seals seal, all the zippers zip fluidly, all the valves work properly and all of the suit's stitching is in tact. The only thing we've noticed is a bit of what looks like scorching on the palms of the gloves, but it looks just like surface scorching, nothing that has gone all the way through. We roped one of our new assistants into getting inside this suit to pose for the photos and it's ... moresurprisingly easy to get into. Our assistant is 5'11" and as you can see from the photos, there's still plenty of room(of course, he wasn't wearing any breathing apparatus on his back which the suit can easily accommodate inside) This is an extra large suit and according to Kappler's size charts, it should easily fit a person up to 6'4" in height. The silver gloves are detachable and slip over heavy plastic hand inserts that are sewn into the arms. The boot liners are also made of heavy plastic and sewn into the legs. Unlike the gloves, the suit didn't include any slip over silver boots- boots were chosen by the occupant depending on the situation. Up for auction this week is an extremely rare 1976 Gemini Era Fueling Space"SCAPE" Suit. This suit is very unique. It includes the helmet. Gloves, suit, and hoses. Sizing of this suit is"Medium Regular. Information Vintage Self Contained Atmospheric Protective Ensemble(SCAPE) suit. Complete with its rubber gloves, was utilized by missile silo and launch-pad team members engaged in fueling and de-tanking of storable liquid propellants affiliated with Titan launch vehicle and spacecraft reaction control systems, and were later used on fueling other spacecraft. Suit would have included its own backpack with breathing oxygen to isolate the wearer from hazards of hyper-golic fuel and oxidizer(propellants were extremely toxic and carcinogenic) Material surrounding hoses has disintegrated, as they all have.
